The farm had 50 hectares of land, growing wheat, barley, and corn. They were buying pelleted feed from a local mill. The cost was high, and the quality was inconsistent. The farm owner (let's call him Andrzej) decided to produce his own feed using his home-grown grains.
Andrzej explained the situation: "We grow our own grain. We were selling it and buying feed. That didn't make sense. I wanted to use our wheat, barley, and corn to make feed for our pigs, chickens, and cattle. Installation took two weeks. The farm had an existing building converted into a small feed mill. A concrete foundation (150mm thick) was poured for the SZLH250 animal feed pellet machine.
The electrical hookup required 400V, 50Hz three-phase (Polish standard). The 22kW motor required a 60-amp breaker.
The first test run was with pig grower formula (4.5mm die). The conditioner added steam to reach 75°C, 17% moisture. The pellet machine ran smoothly at 1.1 tons/hour. Pellet durability (PDI) was 92% – good for on-farm use.
