12–14 T/H Chicken Feed Pellet Machine for Production Line Use in Canada

Chicken Feed Pellet Machine for Production Line Use in Canada: SZLH508 integration for wheat-based broiler feed, starter crumbles and 12–14 t/h pellets.

12–14 T/H Chicken Feed Pellet Machine for Production Line Use in Canada

OVERVIEW

A replacement pellet mill has to work with equipment on both sides of it. At an established Alberta feed mill, the purchasing decision starts with the cooler, steam header and production schedule as much as the press itself.

This illustrative application considers a commercial mill supplying broiler farms through bulk deliveries. The brief is to replace one ageing pellet press while retaining the existing grinding system, 6,000 kg batch mixer, surge bin, cooler, crumbler, screener and load-out equipment. A chicken feed pellet machine for production line use in Canada must fit that operating arrangement and provide maintainable access.

Define the production branch before sizing the press

The proposed duty is 12–14 tonnes per hour of cooled, screened broiler pellets before any post-pellet oil application, subject to formula trials and downstream verification. That figure belongs to this branch. Other mill products and production routes have their own schedules.

At the lower planning rate, 12 tonnes per hour across 16 scheduled hours and 250 operating days represents 48,000 tonnes annually before changeover and downtime allowances. Sales planning should use available production hours and accepted product weights.

The 6,000 kg mixer machine also needs a usable surge-bin buffer. Its batch discharge should not flood the feeder; bin capacity is checked using the actual mash bulk density and available working volume.

Two product routes shape the installation:

These are trial product specifications, to be checked against farm feeding requirements. Changing diameter requires a different ring die; cutter adjustment controls pellet length. Starter crumb size depends on the crumbler and screen settings.

The proposed SZLH508 configuration

The SZLH508 feed pellet machine provides a suitable starting point for this duty within its published reference capacity. Its gear transmission drives the pelletizing assembly. The equipment schedule separates catalogue ratings from the application target.

Item Specification or design basis
Machine quantity One SZLH508 ring die feed pellet mill
Main motor reference rating 160 kW
Feeder motor reference rating 2.2 kW
Conditioner motor reference rating 11 kW
Listed drive ratings combined 173.2 kW
Ring die inner diameter 508 mm
Published reference capacity 10–18 t/h; dependent on material and configuration
Application planning target 12–14 t/h of cooled, screened pellets; trial confirmation required
Proposed die bores 3.5 mm and 4 mm
Electrical configuration 60 Hz; site voltage and approved motor/control package to be confirmed

The combined rating covers the three listed drives. Conveyors, cooling air, extraction and boiler auxiliaries require separate load assessment. Actual electricity consumption must be measured during production.

Wheat-based mash needs a consistent conditioning supply

The material envelope centres on ground feed wheat, soybean meal and canola meal, with maize included where the approved formula calls for it. Vegetable oil, mineral ingredients, salt, amino acids and premix are metered through the existing batching system. The mill's nutritionist sets inclusion rates and nutrient specifications.

For initial trials, the proposed mash moisture window is 12–14% on a wet basis. Cereal grinding starts with a provisional geometric mean particle size of 600–900 micrometres, verified by sieve analysis. The hammer-mill screen opening alone does not establish that distribution.

Ingredient changes deserve attention before feeder speed increases. Canola meal introduces a different fibre and oil profile from soybean meal. Oil added before pressing can affect pellet strength, so the nutritionist and process engineer should review its allocation between mixing and any existing coating stage.

In an Alberta winter, cold incoming ingredients can increase the heat required for conditioning. Steam availability therefore needs checking during simultaneous plant demand, including pressure stability, condensate removal and steam quality at the conditioner. Temperature, residence time and moisture addition are established together during trials, with heat-sensitive additives considered.

Write the control sequence before connecting cables

The integration package needs an agreed input/output list: main-drive status and current, feeder speed command, conditioner temperature, bin levels, cooler readiness and destination availability. The plant controls contractor defines wiring, communications and ownership of each command.

An existing Allen-Bradley platform can remain the supervisory system when the interfaces are engineered and tested. Matching the PLC brand alone does not establish compatibility.

The surge bin supplies the variable-speed feeder and conditioner. Screened fines return through a controlled route so their rate stays visible in the production balance.

Before feeding starts, the sequence must confirm the approved drive and downstream permissives. A cooler high-level trip should stop upstream feeding through the agreed sequence. Loss of material flow requires coordinated steam control. Trip recovery needs operator acknowledgement and a defined restart procedure.

Operators should see the cause of a stoppage on the existing HMI. Alarms that distinguish overload, steam problems and blocked discharge help maintenance staff find the fault promptly.

Prepare the shutdown around physical interfaces

The layout review covers inlet and outlet elevations, foundation loads, lifting arrangements, die-removal space and gearbox service access. A short gravity transfer into the existing cooler is preferable where the building permits. The pellet cooler machine must handle the proposed hot-pellet flow and thermal load.

Canada's 60 Hz supply also affects motor and drive selection. Confirm the actual mill voltage, starting arrangement, protection and electrical approval documentation with the local electrical contractor. The supplied configuration must preserve the agreed operating speeds.

RICHI's proposed supply scope should identify the feeder, conditioner, press, dies, drawings, wear parts and commissioning assistance individually. The poultry feed pellet machine retains responsibility for its existing process equipment and assigns personnel for controls, electrical work, mechanical installation and operation.

Inbound planning can consider Qingdao to Vancouver, followed by rail and road transport into Alberta. Booking, package dimensions and lifting access determine the final arrangement. The shutdown date should follow confirmed delivery and site readiness.

Accept the machine on usable feed output

Site trials should cover starter and finisher batches, recording net screened output, fines returned, pellet durability, cooled temperature, moisture and measured energy use. Sampling at bulk load-out reveals breakage introduced after the cooler. Release limits belong in the agreed acceptance sheet.

For a chicken feed pellet machine for production line use in Canada, send RICHI Machinery the formula ranges, required feed forms, line drawing, cooler data, steam measurements and electrical details. That information supports a defined replacement package and a practical changeover plan before the purchase is committed.
