5–6 T/H Cattle Feed Grinder Machine in Myanmar

OVERVIEW

A livestock feed processor in Myanmar's Bago Region selected one RICHI SFSP66×60 Cattle Feed Grinder Machine in Myanmar to upgrade the grinding section of its existing cattle feed plant. The customer already operated batching, mixing and pelletizing equipment and supplied compound cattle feed to its own livestock operation and nearby farms. The existing grinder had become the main bottleneck as production increased, particularly when processing maize, broken rice and oilseed cakes for concentrate feed.

The selected SFSP66×60 uses a 55 kW main motor and provides a reference grinding capacity of approximately 5–6 T/H on suitable feed ingredients. Whole maize, broken grain and appropriately sized oilseed cake enter the grinding section after cleaning and magnetic separation. The animal feed hammer mill reduces these materials to an approximately 1–3 mm particle range before batching and mixing. The existing pelletizing section subsequently produces approximately 4–6 mm cattle feed pellets according to the customer's product specification.

Why a 5–6 T/H Grinder Fits This Bago Feed Plant

The SFSP66×60 would be unnecessarily large for a small farm feeding only one or two hundred cattle. In this project, the machine serves a regional feed-processing operation rather than functioning as a small on-farm grinder. The customer manufactures approximately 6,000–7,000 tonnes of cattle compound feed per year and needs enough grinding capacity to prepare ingredients in scheduled batches before mixing and pelletizing.

At approximately 5–6 T/H and four effective grinding hours per operating day, the machine can prepare around 20–24 tonnes of ground ingredients. Across 300 working days, this corresponds to approximately 6,000–7,200 tonnes of theoretical annual grinding capacity. This matches the actual scale of the operation much better than presenting a 55 kW hammer mill as equipment intended only for a small family cattle farm.

Main Application Concentrate ingredients for compound cattle feed

The 5–6 T/H range is used consistently throughout this project. Actual throughput varies with ingredient density, moisture, screen opening, hammer condition and feeding continuity. Maize and broken rice generally feed more easily than irregular oilseed-cake pieces, so the operator does not expect every ingredient to run at exactly the same tonnes per hour.

Feed Materials Used in the Myanmar Project

The Bago operation uses ingredients that fit Myanmar's agricultural supply base. Rice production provides broken rice and rice bran, while maize is an important feed energy source. Groundnut cake and sesame cake are also established protein ingredients in Myanmar livestock feeding because both oil crops are widely produced and processed domestically.

The grinder primarily handles maize, broken rice and larger pieces of groundnut or sesame cake that require further size reduction. Rice bran is already relatively fine and can often bypass the main hammer mill when its incoming condition is suitable for mixing.

Rice husk is not treated as a major energy ingredient simply because it is abundant. It contains considerably more structural fiber and silica than rice bran and has relatively low feeding value, so its use in a formulated cattle diet requires careful nutrition evaluation. The customer's core concentrate therefore relies more heavily on grain, bran and oilseed meals than on rice husk.

Long Grass and Napier Follow a Separate Route

The SFSP66×60 is not used as a bale breaker. Long Napier grass, hay or straw cannot be fed directly into the grinding chamber in full-length form. If dry forage is incorporated into a pellet formulation, it first needs bale opening and coarse chopping, normally to approximately 15–40 mm, before entering a forage-grinding stage suited to fibrous material.

For this Bago project, the SFSP66×60 mainly serves the concentrate-feed section. Long forage remains a separate preparation stream and is combined later according to the customer's feed product and formulation requirements. This avoids forcing one machine to perform both bale opening and fine grain grinding.

Fresh Napier or banana stems are also excluded from the dry hammer-mill route. Their high moisture and long fibrous structure make them unsuitable for direct processing in this equipment without drying and substantial upstream preparation.

From Grain and Cake to 1–3 mm Feed Material

Before grinding, raw ingredients pass through cleaning and magnetic separation to reduce the risk from stones and ferrous contaminants. Whole maize and larger cake pieces then enter the SFSP66×60 through a controlled feeder.

Inside the grinding chamber, high-speed hammers repeatedly impact the material until particles can pass through the selected screen. For this cattle-feed project, the target is approximately 1–3 mm ground material before batching and mixing.

This is a particle-size range rather than a statement that every particle is exactly the same dimension. Hammer-mill screen opening, ingredient hardness, moisture, airflow and hammer wear all influence the final particle distribution.

The grinder improves physical uniformity for mixing and pelletizing. It does not independently increase feed digestibility, cattle weight gain or milk yield. Those outcomes depend on the complete diet, animal genetics, health and farm management.

How the Grinder Connects with the Existing Pellet Feed System

Ground ingredients move from the hammer mill to the customer's existing batching and mixing section. The formulation system combines energy ingredients, protein meals, minerals, vitamins and other approved components according to the cattle product being manufactured.

The mixed feed then enters the existing pelletizing section. For this project, the plant produces approximately 4–6 mm compound cattle feed pellets. The exact pellet diameter can change according to the customer's product specification, but the grinder remains responsible only for preparing the upstream ingredient particle size.

The 5–6 T/H grinder does not require every downstream machine to operate at exactly the same instantaneous rate. Ground ingredients can be accumulated in bins between process stages, but mixer batch capacity and pellet-mill throughput still need to be checked to prevent the grinder from simply moving the production bottleneck downstream.

Aspiration and Maintenance Matter for Stable Output

The SFSP66×60 feed crusher machine operates with an aspiration system that helps move ground particles through the screen and removes air from the grinding circuit. Proper airflow can reduce unnecessary recirculation inside the chamber and support more stable capacity.

Dust collection is also required because maize, rice and dry oilseed-cake grinding generate fine particles. The plant therefore uses enclosed conveying and an appropriate dust collection arrangement rather than treating the workshop as dust-free.

Hammers and screens are inspected according to actual wear. Abrasive contaminants, incorrect screen selection or worn hammer edges can lower output and broaden particle distribution. RICHI therefore does not assign one universal hammer life to the project.

Shipping through Yangon Port

The SFSP66×60 Cattle Feed Grinder Machine in Myanmar is prepared for export from Qingdao, China, with Yangon used as the main international gateway before inland delivery to the Bago Region. The relatively short inland connection makes Yangon a practical entry point for industrial equipment serving this part of southern Myanmar.

Before shipment, RICHI reviews the machine foundation, electrical supply, feeder position, aspiration connection, discharge elevation and interfaces with the existing batching and mixing system. This allows the new grinder to replace the weak processing stage without requiring the customer to rebuild the rest of the feed plant.

What to Confirm Before Selecting a Cattle Feed Grinder

A 5–6 T/H Cattle Feed Grinder Machine in Myanmar

This Cattle Feed Grinder Machine in Myanmar project uses one RICHI SFSP66×60 with a 55 kW main motor to prepare concentrate ingredients for an existing cattle feed plant in the Bago Region. Whole grain and suitably broken oilseed cake, generally below approximately 20–30 mm before grinding, are reduced to an approximately 1–3 mm particle range at a reference capacity of around 5–6 T/H.

With approximately four effective grinding hours per day and 300 operating days per year, the machine provides about 6,000–7,200 tonnes of theoretical annual grinding availability. For another Myanmar cattle-feed project, RICHI Machinery needs the raw-material list, incoming size, required final particle size, target T/H, forage-handling method, mixer machine capacity, feed pellet mill capacity and operating schedule before confirming the grinder configuration.
