Saudi Arabia 8-10 T/H Ruminant Feed Project Moves Forward After Production Plan Approval

A Saudi Arabian feed producer has approved the main production plan for a new 8-10 t/h sheep and goat feed mill to be supplied by RICHI Machinery, allowing the project to move into detailed equipment engineering.

The planned factory will serve commercial ruminant feeding operations with several formulas rather than one standardized pellet. Barley, corn, wheat bran, protein meals, alfalfa meal, molasses, minerals and premixes are among the principal ingredient groups considered in the design.

The latest approval establishes how those materials will move through the factory and where different feed products will separate.

The Approved Plan Gives Molasses Its Own Handling Route

Dry ingredients dominate much of the production process, but molasses requires a separate approach.

It needs controlled storage and dosing before entering the feed mixture. Poor liquid distribution can create local wet spots, affect mixer discharge and influence subsequent pellet formation.

The project plan therefore includes a dedicated liquid-handling arrangement instead of treating molasses like another minor ingredient.

This was one of the technical items reviewed before the customer approved the production route.

Alfalfa Meal Changes Storage Demand

Saudi ruminant feed production also introduces a substantial fibrous component.

Alfalfa meal and bran generally occupy more storage volume per tonne than many dense ground grains. Their flow characteristics also differ.

RICHI has taken this into account while determining bin allocation and feeder requirements.

The result is a plant arrangement built around the ingredient profile of sheep and goat feeds rather than a poultry mill layout reused for another animal category.

Several Pellet Specifications Will Share the Same Mill

The customer expects the factory to produce feeds for different livestock groups and feeding stages, mainly in the 4–8 mm pellet range.

Not every specification will deliver exactly the same hourly throughput.

Formula composition, fiber level, liquid addition and pellet diameter can change practical production conditions.

The 8-10 t/h figure therefore defines the intended plant scale for the main production program.

Detailed Layout Work Begins After Process Approval

The engineering team can now move deeper into bin dimensions, equipment positions, maintenance space and utility interfaces.

RICHI will also coordinate the proposed layout with the customer's building conditions before manufacturing drawings are finalized.

This stage often receives less attention than equipment delivery or commissioning, but decisions made now determine how ingredients will move through the plant for years after startup.

With the main production plan approved, the Saudi project has crossed that decision point and is moving toward final equipment configuration.
