Greece Olive Residue Pellet Project Cleared for Delivery After Material Evaluation

A 4 t/h biomass pellet project for Greece has been cleared for overseas delivery after RICHI Machinery completed the material evaluation and corresponding pre-shipment work for the customer's olive-processing residue.

The plant will be installed in an olive-producing region where the customer intends to turn prepared processing residues into 6–8 mm biomass fuel pellets. Clean untreated sawdust can also be introduced as a supplementary feedstock when available.

Before the project reached the delivery stage, however, one terminology problem had to be resolved: “olive residue” does not describe one uniform raw material.

Material Condition Was Confirmed Before the Process Was Frozen

Olive-processing residues can differ substantially depending on how olives are processed upstream and how the remaining material is subsequently handled.

Moisture can vary. Residual oil content can vary. The proportion of fibrous and fine material can vary.

Designing a production system from the material name alone would therefore create unnecessary risk.

RICHI based the project route on the customer's confirmed feedstock condition and planned preparation method.

Sawdust Is Available as a Supplement, Not a Mandatory Recipe

The Greek producer also has access to suitable clean sawdust from wood-processing activities.

That material gives the operation another compatible biomass stream, but RICHI has not written a fixed blend percentage into the production concept.

If the main olive-derived material changes in moisture or physical condition, the appropriate operating ratio may also change.

The biomass pellet production line needs controlled flexibility rather than a marketing formula such as “70% olive waste + 30% sawdust” applied regardless of real material conditions.

Pre-Shipment Work Has Now Been Completed

The main equipment has passed the required factory checks and is being prepared for international transport.

Packing identification follows the future installation arrangement so that preparation equipment, pelletizing equipment and downstream systems can be reconstructed correctly at the Greek site.

The customer's local work is continuing in parallel.

The Most Important Material Test Still Happens in Greece

Factory evaluation provides the engineering basis, but the final production settings will be established with the customer's continuous commercial feedstock supply.

After installation, RICHI will use the real material to confirm feeding behavior, moisture requirements and pellet formation.

That commissioning stage will also show how the line responds when the balance between olive residue and supplementary clean wood material changes.

The project is now ready to leave the factory, but the decision to evaluate the feedstock before shipment has already shaped the equipment that will arrive in Greece.
