Canada 7 T/H Clean Recovered Wood Pellet Plant Advances Through Final Commissioning

Final commissioning is underway at a 7 t/h biomass pellet plant in Canada where the customer is processing approved clean recovered wood into 6–8 mm fuel pellets.

The raw-material stream includes clean construction timber, untreated formwork residues, wood offcuts, shavings and sawdust collected through the customer's controlled recovery network.

Painted, chemically treated, laminated or otherwise unsuitable wood is excluded from the approved production basis.

At this stage, the commissioning team is spending as much time checking what enters the plant as what comes out.

Incoming Wood Acceptance Has Become the First Production Gate

Recovered wood offers a useful biomass resource, but its value depends on source control.

The customer cannot treat every material described as “waste wood” as pellet feedstock.

Before material enters production, the operating team checks whether it belongs to the accepted clean-wood categories and whether obvious metal or unsuitable surface treatments are present.

This incoming-material discipline is now part of the plant's normal operating procedure.

Different Wood Forms Are Taking Different Preparation Paths

Clean timber pieces and formwork residues need size reduction before they can enter fine grinding.

Shavings require less coarse preparation.

Sawdust can bypass some size-reduction stages when its particle size already meets the relevant requirement, although moisture must still be evaluated.

The Canadian wood pellet production line therefore uses a flexible preparation route instead of sending every wood form through the same machine sequence.

Commissioning Is Now Testing the Customer's Actual Material Mix

Early checks verified individual equipment.

The current runs are different because they use the customer's own recovered wood supply and realistic combinations of feedstock.

Changes in the proportion of coarse timber, shavings and sawdust can alter upstream machine loading and feeder behavior.

Operators are learning to respond to those changes without losing control of the complete production route.

Capacity Depends on Material Condition

The 7 t/h figure represents the designed scale under the agreed operating conditions.

A shift dominated by dry prepared sawdust will not place the same demand on upstream crushing or drying as a shift containing a larger share of coarse or wetter recovered wood.

RICHI Machinery is recording practical operating references during commissioning instead of presenting one capacity number as independent of feedstock condition.

Handover Will Follow Operator-Led Stable Runs

The customer's Canadian team is now assuming more responsibility for raw-material acceptance, startup, line adjustments and downstream product checks.

Once the remaining stable runs are completed, the project can move into final handover.

The line's long-term performance will depend on more than wood pellet mill settings. It will also depend on whether the customer's clean-wood sourcing and acceptance rules remain as disciplined after commissioning as they are today.
