RICHI 1-2 T/H Poultry Feed Line Starts Production at Myanmar Farm

Clicks:

A new 1-2 T/H poultry feed production line supplied by RICHI Machinery has recently entered operation at a farm in Myanmar. Following equipment installation, line checks and production adjustment, the customer is now using the system to process poultry feed for farm consumption. The project gives other small and medium poultry operations a practical view of what a 1-2 ton per hour feed mill looks like after the machinery has moved beyond delivery and installation and into actual production.

The customer selected this capacity around the farm's feed demand rather than pursuing a larger commercial feed mill. The line brings the main feed-making steps into one compact production system, covering grain grinding, ingredient mixing, pellet production and downstream pellet handling. It also gives the farm greater control over when feed is produced, which ingredients are used and which finished feed specifications are prepared for different poultry feeding stages.

RICHI 1-2 T/H Poultry Feed Line Starts Production at Myanmar Farm

The First Production Runs Focused on Stable Material Flow

Bringing a new feed line into operation is not simply a matter of switching on the pellet machine. During initial production, attention is placed on how material moves through the complete system. Grinding output needs to keep pace with mixing, the mixer needs to discharge consistently to the next section, and the pelletizing and downstream handling equipment need to operate without creating unnecessary waiting or material accumulation.

For this 1-2 T/H line, the objective during startup was therefore stable continuous production rather than forcing every machine to its maximum output immediately. Once the basic material flow is stable, operators can become familiar with formula changes, feeding rates, pelletizing conditions and routine adjustments. This approach is especially useful for farm customers that are moving from purchased finished feed or simpler on-farm mixing into pellet feed production for the first time.

Why the Farm Chose 1-2 Tons Per Hour

The value of a 1-2 T/H poultry feed mill depends on how its output fits the farm's real consumption. At a nominal production rate of 1 ton per hour, six hours of operation can produce approximately 6 tons of feed; at 2 tons per hour, the same production period corresponds to approximately 12 tons. An eight-hour production day gives a theoretical range of approximately 8-16 tons. Actual output varies with feed formula, pellet specification, equipment utilization, changeovers and operating conditions, but this capacity allows a poultry farm to concentrate feed manufacturing into planned production periods rather than keeping a small machine running for most of the day.

This is also why RICHI does not recommend selecting a poultry feed line only from flock size or the highest advertised equipment capacity. Daily feed consumption, the number of production days per week, raw material storage, future flock expansion and whether feed will be supplied to neighboring farms all influence the appropriate capacity. For some operations 1-2 T/H provides useful flexibility; for a very small poultry farm with limited feed demand, the same line may be unnecessarily large.

From Grain Ingredients to Finished Chicken Feed

The feed system is designed to process conventional poultry feed ingredients according to the farm's formulation. Grain materials can include maize and other locally available cereals, combined with protein meals, bran-type ingredients, oil, minerals, premixes and other nutritional components required by the feed program. The exact formulation can change with ingredient availability, poultry type and growth stage, so the production line needs to handle more than one fixed raw material combination.

Whole grains first require appropriate size reduction before they are incorporated into the mixed feed. Meal and fine ingredients do not necessarily need the same grinding treatment, while premixes and other low-inclusion materials need controlled addition. This distinction is important on a small poultry feed line because unnecessary reprocessing increases energy use and handling without improving the finished feed.

How the 1-2 T/H Poultry Feed Line Is Working

The production route keeps the main operations relatively straightforward so farm personnel can manage the system without the complexity of a large commercial feed factory.

  1. Grinding: grain ingredients requiring size reduction are processed to obtain a more suitable particle condition for mixing and pellet production.
  2. Ingredient preparation and mixing: ground grain, meals and other formula components are weighed and mixed to distribute the ingredients through the feed batch.
  3. Pelletizing: the prepared mash enters the pelletizing section, where operating parameters are adjusted according to the formula and required finished feed.
  4. Cooling: pellets leaving the feed pellet machine are hot and need to be cooled before normal handling and storage.
  5. Crumbling where required: larger pellets can be reduced into smaller particles when the farm needs crumble feed for younger birds.
  6. Screening and collection: fines and acceptable finished product are separated before the feed moves to storage, packing or farm use.

The individual machines in this animal feed pellet production line are therefore selected as connected processing sections. A 2 T/H pellet machine alone would not create a 2 T/H feed plant if grinding, mixing or cooling could not support the same material flow.

One Line Can Serve Different Poultry Feeding Stages

The farm does not necessarily need one physical feed specification for every bird. Poultry feeding programs can require different feed forms as birds develop, which is why pellet and crumble handling is an important consideration on a chicken feed production line.

For younger birds, smaller feed particles or crumbles can be prepared according to the farm's feeding program. As birds grow, larger finished pellets can be used where appropriate. The customer can therefore organize production batches according to the feed currently required on the farm instead of treating the 1-2 T/H line as a machine that produces only one pellet size.

Changing feed specifications still requires production management. Operators need to follow the appropriate formula, control ingredient addition and avoid unwanted carryover when changing products. For farms producing several feed types, production sequencing can reduce unnecessary cleaning and changeover time.

The Farm Chose a Compact Line, Not a Stripped-Down Line

A small feed mill should occupy less space and require a lower investment than a large commercial factory, but compact does not mean that necessary processing steps can simply be removed. Grinding quality still matters. Mixing still needs to be sufficiently uniform. Pellets still require downstream handling after leaving the feed pellet mill. Operators still need access for cleaning, inspection and wear-part replacement.

The better approach is to simplify material movement and automation according to actual farm requirements. A farm using a limited number of formulas may not need the extensive ingredient-bin system of a commercial feed manufacturer producing many products every day. Likewise, finished feed intended mainly for internal consumption may use a simpler collection or packing arrangement than feed produced for retail distribution. These choices reduce unnecessary equipment while retaining the functions needed for stable feed production.

What Changed After the Line Entered Operation?

Once production begins, the questions facing the customer become different from those discussed during equipment purchasing. The focus moves from motor power and machine specifications to daily production management: how much feed should be produced in each batch, when raw materials need to be replenished, how operators should schedule different formulas, when screens and wear parts should be inspected, and whether actual daily output continues to match farm consumption.

This operating stage also provides information that cannot be obtained from a quotation. The customer can observe how raw material condition affects grinding, how different formulas behave during pellet production and how much labor is actually required for normal production. These operating records can later be used to improve production scheduling and determine whether additional storage, conveying, batching or other equipment would be useful as the farm develops.

Running a 1-2 T/H Feed Mill Requires a Reliable Raw Material Plan

A feed line can only operate consistently when the farm has enough ingredients available for the planned production schedule. At 1-2 T/H, even a single six-hour production period can consume enough material to produce approximately 6-12 tons of finished feed at nominal output. Raw material purchasing therefore needs to be planned in tonnes rather than around occasional bags of grain.

Storage also needs to protect ingredients from moisture, contamination and deterioration. Grain and meal inventories should be managed according to consumption rather than simply accumulated for long periods. Premixes and other sensitive ingredients require suitable storage and identification so operators can follow the correct formulation. For farms considering their own poultry feed mill, raw material procurement and storage are often just as important to project feasibility as the machinery itself.

What RICHI Checks After a New Feed Line Starts Running

Initial production is the beginning of the operating stage rather than the end of technical work. The line should be observed under the customer's normal raw materials and formulas so that operating parameters can be refined around actual production conditions.

Operating Point What Needs Attention Why It Matters
Grinding Particle condition and stable throughput Affects mixing and downstream pellet production
Mixing Batch sequence, loading and discharge Supports consistent feed preparation
Pelletizing Feeding rate and operating condition Influences output and pellet formation
Cooling Pellet condition after cooling Important before storage and handling
Crumbling Finished particle specification Allows feed form to match younger poultry where required
Daily Operation Output, downtime and maintenance records Helps the farm improve production scheduling

A Running Project Gives New Buyers Better Questions to Ask

For another farm considering a 1-2 T/H poultry feed pellet line, the most useful question is not simply, "How much does a 2 T/H feed mill cost?" A better starting point is whether the farm has enough daily feed demand to use the capacity efficiently and whether its raw material supply can support regular production.

The next questions concern the product itself. Does the farm need mash, pellets, crumbles or more than one feed form? How many formulas will be produced? Are whole grains purchased and therefore grinding is required? Will finished feed be used immediately, stored in bulk or packed? How many people will operate the line? Is there an existing workshop, or must the equipment arrangement be designed around a new building?

The answers can change the configuration even when two customers request exactly the same 1-2 T/H capacity.

From Commissioning to Routine Poultry Feed Production

The Myanmar line has now moved into the stage that ultimately matters to the farm: producing feed. With the main processing sections operating as a connected system, the customer's next priority is to establish a stable production routine around ingredient purchasing, formula scheduling, equipment maintenance and actual poultry feed consumption.

For RICHI Machinery, a running feed mill also provides a more meaningful reference for prospective customers than an equipment list alone. Farms planning a similar project can compare their daily feed demand, available ingredients, required feed forms and workshop conditions with a real 1-2 T/H operating scenario before deciding how much automation and equipment they actually need.

If you are considering on-farm poultry feed production, start with your daily feed consumption rather than choosing a machine model first. Tell RICHI how many tons of feed your farm uses each day, what poultry you raise, which ingredients are locally available and whether you need mash, pellets, crumbles or several finished products. We can then determine whether 1-2 T/H is the right scale and configure the line around the way your farm will actually operate.
