On July 13, 2023, this 3-4t/h wood pellet production line in Poland project was signed.

The customer is a Polish timber company that has plenty of leftover scraps from wood processing. So he was planning to start a wood pellet processing business.

This project, with an investment of US$350,000, is a biomass pellet palnt project with an annual output of 5,000 tons. The pellets processed by this project are mainly for sale, and some are used by the wood mill for its own use.

The 3-4MT wood pellet production line in Poland project has a labor capacity of 8 people, an annual production of 200 days, and a one-shift system of 8 hours each.

Construction content

The customer's wood factory has a vacant factory building (construction area of about 1000m2), and the 3-4t/h wood pellet production line in Poland will be installed in this factory to produce wood pellets.

  1. Screening:
    First, the remaining wood scraps from wood processing in the factory are sent to the screening machine to remove impurities (sand, iron filings, etc.).
  2. Crushing:
    The cleaned wood scraps are sent to the crusher through the feeding auger and crushed into suitable powder.
  3. Drying:
    Wood chip raw materials generally have a high moisture content. In order to ensure the optimal moisture conditions required for molding, the raw materials need to be dried until the moisture content of the materials reaches about 10%.
    The wood chips are produced by burning biomass wood pellet fuel in the drying furnace. The hot flue gas dries the materials.
  4. Separation:
    The dried materials undergo solid and gas separation through the cyclone separator, and the solid materials enter the silo.
  5. Granulation:
    The dried material is extruded through a wood biomass pellet mill. During operation, the material falls vertically from the feed port of the pellet molding machine to the upper surface of the shelf plate.
    After the rotation of the shelf plate, the material is continuously and evenly distributed on the surface of the inner cavity of the mold (the contact surface between the pressing wheel and the mold). The powdery material passes through the holes of the mold (through holes evenly distributed on the inner surface of the mold).
    In this process, the material is subjected to high pressure and high temperature, causing physical changes, causing the powdery material to form an ever-lengthening cylindrical solid body. This cylindrical solid body continues to elongate until it is cut off by the cutters around the uniform mold, forming a certain specification.
    The granules scattered around the wood pellet mill mold are concentrated to the discharge port by the dialing teeth, and the granules fall automatically under the action of gravity. At this point, the granule pressing process is completed.
  6. Inspection, packaging, and storage:
    The pelletized wood pellets are cooling and screened, then the produced wood pellets are sampled and analyzed, and the products that pass the inspection are packaged and stored in the warehouse. The unqualified products are collected and used as fuel for the project drying furnace.

The overall layout of the production workshop of this 3-4t/h wood pellet production line in Poland project is basically based on the production process and operational requirements.

The material flow is smooth and complies with relevant regulations such as fire prevention, safety, and hygiene. The overall layout has clear functional divisions to facilitate the continuity of production.

Project environmental protection measures

Exhaust gas from drying, granulating, screening and crushing sections

  • The drying waste gas of the 3-4t/h wood pellet production line in Poland project is processed by a water bath + bag dust collector and then discharged through a 15m exhaust pipe.
  • The dust generated in the granulation and molding section of this project will be processed by the dust removal facilities (bag dust collector) provided by each production equipment, collected in a unified manner, and then discharged through a 15m exhaust pipe.
  • The dust generated in the screening and crushing section of this project will be discharged through the 15m exhaust pipe after being processed by the gas collection + bag dust collector.

Water bath dust removal is a wet dust removal method commonly used in industrial boilers. It has the characteristics of simple process, strong adaptability, low cost, low operating cost, and good dust removal efficiency. By virtue of the contact between dust-containing gas and liquid, the dust particles are separated from the air flow by inertial collision of water droplets and dust particles and other effects, so that the gas can be purified. The dust removal efficiency can reach about 70%.

Bag dust collector, also known as filter dust collector, is a dry high-efficiency dust collector. It is a dust removal device that uses bag filter elements made of fiber braid to capture solid particles in dust-containing gas. Its working principle is that when dust particles go around the fibers of the filter cloth, they are intercepted due to inertial force and collide with the fibers, so that the gas can be purified. The dust removal efficiency can reach more than 99%.

After the Poland wood pellet production line project is running, customers need to strengthen the daily maintenance of the dust removal facilities to keep them in good operating condition and ensure the stable operation of the dust removal facilities.

Dust removal wastewater

The dust removal wastewater of the 3-4t/h wood pellet production line in Poland project will be reused after sedimentation treatment without being discharged, and treatment measures are feasible.

Under the guidance of RICHI engineers, the customer built a sedimentation tank (effective volume not less than 10m3). At the same time, customers will strengthen daily maintenance and regularly clean sediment to ensure the sedimentation effect of the sedimentation tank.

Solid waste

  1. Raw material impurities: The raw material impurities (sand, iron filings and other impurities) generated by the Poland biomass pellet production line project account for about 1.5% of the total raw materials. After calculation, the amount of raw material impurities produced is about 225t/a. After unified collection, dispose together with domestic waste.
  2. Unqualified products: The yield of this 3-4t/h wood pellet production line in Poland project is about 95%. After calculation, the amount of unqualified products produced is about 250t/a, which will be collected uniformly and used as fuel for drying furnaces.
  3. Dust collected by dust removal equipment: The amount of dust collected by dust removal equipment is about 2.0t/a. After unified collection, it can be reused as raw materials.
  4. Drying furnace burning (ash) slag: The drying furnace fuel usage is 360t/a, and the ash content is about 1.5%, so the amount of burning (ash) slag produced is about 5.4t/a. After unified collection, it is used as farmyard manure.
  5. Dust removal wastewater sedimentation tank sediment: The amount of sediment produced is about 0.2t/a. After unified collection, it is used as farmyard manure.
