1-2 T/H Wood Pellet Production Line In Portugal

This is a small capacity 1-2t/h biomass wood pellet production line in Portugal project undertaken by RICHI. The project covers an area of about 426.67m2. The biomass pellet plant project is currently not equipped with a crushing process, so it is accepted in stages.

The current acceptance content is the first phase of the production scale of 4,000 tons of biomass pellets per year, and the later configuration of the crushing process will be accepted separately.

Due to market price fluctuations and the addition of environmental protection equipment, the actual total investment and environmental protection investment of the project are higher than the total amount estimated during the environmental impact assessment. The actual total investment is 120,000 US dollars, of which the environmental protection investment accounts for 11.3% of the total investment.

In May 2023, the 1-2t/h wood biomass pellet production line in Portugal project started construction. Due to equipment commissioning and market reasons, the project started production commissioning in September 2023.

Plane layout

The 1-2t/h biomass wood pellet production line in Portugal project covers an area of approximately 426.67m2. The overall terrain of the factory area is approximately rectangular, with no obvious boundary separation between the areas. The factory building is located on the north side of the factory area.

The office is located on the southwest side of the factory area, and the toilet is located on the west side of the factory area. The boundaries of the factory area are shown in the following table.

Main process flow

  1. Screening:
    Use a forklift to pour bark, wood piles, wood shavings, peanut shells, wood shavings and other biomass raw materials (which have been crushed when purchased) into the feed hopper, and use a sieving machine to screen out larger raw materials. The raw materials that pass through the screen enter the drying furnace for drying.
  2. Drying:
    Since the moisture content of the raw materials may not meet the production requirements, the raw materials need to be dried. Another purpose of drying is to reach the product molding temperature. The drying process of this 1-2t/h biomass wood pellet production line in Portugal project uses biomass fuel and large waste as fuel. The drying temperature is about 100℃.

    The hot air generated by biomass combustion is in full contact with the material to achieve heat exchange. The material is continuously picked up and scattered in the inner layer of the dryer drum in a spiral manner, and the moisture evaporates.
  3. Granulation:
    The dried wood chips are sent to the granulator and pressed into granular shape in the wood pellet mill without any additives.
  4. Packing and warehousing:
    The qualified finished products are bagged, weighed, packaged, and stored in the warehouse.

Prospects of biomass wood pellet processing

The raw materials for making wood pellet fuel are mostly production waste from the wood industry. In the past, such byproducts were often incinerated as industrial waste or abandoned in nature to decompose.

But now, some businesses have seen the business opportunities in this, turning them into treasures, reprocessing them and transporting them into the fuel market. "Origin" determines "value", and wood pellet fuel naturally has a price advantage that is close to the people.

The relatively low price is undoubtedly one of the key factors that make wood pellets popular among consumers.

Moreover, the production of wood pellets is also quite simple. It can be formed through automated processes such as crushing, drying, and granulation, without the need to add any additional chemical raw materials.

The bagged pellets are easy to store and transport. These factors greatly reduce the production and transportation costs of wood pellet fuel, so that its final price can be kept at a low level.

In addition to being economical and applicable, wood pellet fuel also has the characteristics of high purity, high calorific value, and high thermal efficiency. According to statistics, its combustion efficiency is as high as 80% or more, compared with only 60% for ordinary coal.
