This is a project about a poultry pellet mill in Colombia. In Colombia’s lush Valle del Cauca region, poultry farming has long been a backbone of the local meat supply. While large integrated producers run fully automated feed plants, many mid-sized regional feed mills still operate with aging equipment and partial manual processes.
This is the story of a growing independent feed mill near Palmira that made a smart investment in a poultry pellet mill to modernize its production for local broiler farms.
The mill has supplied mash feed for layers and piglets for years. Considering shifts and warehouse space, they chose a pelletizer that could run 8–10 hours daily and keep up with delivery demand, without pushing their limited raw material storage too hard.
