A pig feed mill in Zaragoza uses one DCS-50K gravity-fed packaging machine for controlled 20–40 kg filling of dry pig-feed pellets while retaining its existing sewing station.

A regional pig-feed mill in Zaragoza selected one DCS-50K Pig Feed Packaging Machine in Spain to replace manual filling and separate weight correction at the bagging station. The factory produces about 25,000 T/A of compound pig feed, with 20 kg, 25 kg and occasional 40 kg bags used for dealer orders, smaller farms and customers that do not receive their grower, finisher, sow or selected piglet feeds in bulk.
The customer already had finished-feed bins, a sewing machine, conveyors and pallet-handling space, so the investment focused on one automatic weighing and filling unit instead of a complete robotic packing line. The DCS-50K uses gravity feeding for free-flowing pellets and offers a reference filling rate of 5–6 bags/min, giving the plant more controlled bag weights while keeping the surrounding packing equipment in service.

The manual station depended on an operator opening a bin gate, estimating the fill and then moving the sack to a separate platform scale for adjustment. That process created unnecessary rehandling and made pack weight depend too heavily on operator judgement. The customer therefore targeted the weighing and filling step first, leaving sewing and pallet stacking outside the machine scope so capital stayed focused on the real bottleneck.
A fully automatic line with bag placement, closing and palletizing would have added more equipment than the plant needed for its bagged share of production. The customer still had usable labour and a serviceable sewing station, so semi-automatic bag presentation remained appropriate. This also gives the mill a practical route to add downstream automation later if bagged orders become large enough to justify it.

The DCS-50K Automatic Packing Machine is selected for dry, free-flowing pellets rather than powder or sticky feed. Gravity feeding keeps the product path simple and avoids adding a belt or auger where positive mechanical feeding is unnecessary. The model also gives more cycle capacity than the DCS-50W, while a DCS-50P or DCS-50F would be evaluated only if the plant later develops a substantial mash or powder-packing duty.
The 5–6 bags/min rating applies to the weighing and filling unit under suitable flow conditions. Complete station output also depends on how quickly the operator places empty bags, how steadily pellets arrive from the finished-feed bin, how fast full bags clear the spout and whether the sewing and pallet-handling steps can keep pace. The machine should therefore be sized as one part of the packing route, not as an isolated speed figure.
The mill uses 20 kg bags for selected piglet products, 25 kg bags for much of its grower and finisher business, and 40 kg bags for some sow-feed or larger-farm orders. Pellet diameter and formula vary by product, but the DCS-50K mainly responds to physical flow, bulk density, fines and bag weight. Nutritional differences do not require a different packing machine when the finished feed remains a clean, free-flowing pellet.
At 5–6 bags/min, 25 kg sacks correspond mathematically to about 7.5–9 T/H of theoretical filling flow, while 20 kg sacks correspond to about 6–7 T/H. A 40 kg format raises mass flow per cycle but also increases manual handling demand. These figures describe the filler itself rather than guaranteed shift output, because sewing, palletizing and operator rhythm can become the practical limit first.
The customer does not calculate bagging demand by dividing the plant's total annual feed tonnage by 25 kg. Commercial pig-feed mills can dispatch a substantial share in bulk, while bagged products serve dealers, smaller farms and specific orders. The DCS-50K is therefore selected from peak bagged volume and bag format, which prevents the packing station from being oversized around tonnes that never pass through a sack.
The Pig Feed Packaging Machine in Spain begins only after feed manufacturing is complete. It does not grind ingredients, formulate rations, make pellets or cool hot product. This boundary matters because unstable bagging can originate upstream: excessive fines, warm pellets, inconsistent bulk density or poor bin discharge can affect filling even when the weighing machine itself is functioning correctly.
Gravity feeding also depends on the finished-feed bin and inlet geometry. If the bin outlet is restricted or the product arrives in irregular surges, the scale may fill more slowly than its reference rate. The retrofit therefore checks available head height, support structure, bagging-spout clearance and the discharge path to the sewer before installation, rather than positioning the machine only where floor space appears convenient.
The DCS-50K is specified at ±0.1% static accuracy and ±0.2% dynamic accuracy. At a 20 kg target, ±0.2% corresponds to about ±40 g; at 25 kg it is about ±50 g; and at 40 kg it is about ±80 g. These are equipment reference values, not a promise for every bag, because calibration, product flow, vibration, cut-off behaviour and installation condition all influence practical results.
Routine check weighing remains necessary after automation. The mill periodically verifies representative bags on an appropriate independent scale and reviews the average trend around the declared target. If weights begin to drift, operators inspect calibration, gate action, load-cell condition, product buildup and pellet flow before raising the set point, because permanent overfilling simply converts a weighing problem into product giveaway.
The machine also needs stable compressed air at about 0.4–0.6 MPa, with reference consumption around 1.5 m³/h. Air should be clean and dry enough for pneumatic components, while the electrical requirement of 0.55 + 0.37 kW is modest compared with the main feed mill. The retrofit still checks protection, grounding, air quality and simultaneous demand from the sewing and conveying equipment around the station.
The DCS-50K can be shipped from Qingdao to Valencia and then moved inland by road to Zaragoza. This route keeps the machinery on a practical Spanish cargo corridor without requiring unnecessary movement through another country. Final vessel service, customs handling and trucking are arranged from the actual booking, so the case does not assign fixed sea days, clearance time or landed-cost percentages that may vary from one shipment to another.
Before arrival, the customer prepares the support frame, inlet connection, compressed-air point, electrical supply, full-bag conveyor and sewing interface from confirmed drawings. Load-cell equipment also benefits from a stable structure with limited external vibration. Enough access is kept around the clamp, weighing section and service points so cleaning, calibration checks and routine maintenance do not require dismantling adjacent equipment.
Future investment should follow the stage that truly limits bags per hour. If the DCS-50K still has weighing capacity but sewing or pallet handling cannot keep pace, a second filler would add little value. The customer first measures empty-bag presentation, filling, closing and pallet flow separately, then decides whether the next step should be faster bag closing, automatic bag placement, pallet handling or another weighing station.
For another buyer evaluating a Pig Feed Packaging Machine in Spain, RICHI Machinery would review pellet or mash form, 20–50 kg bag requirements, peak bags/min, bulk density, fines, finished-bin layout, manual labour, closing method, conveyor capacity, compressed air, electrical supply and available L × W × H. Those inputs determine whether DCS-50K or another feeding principle gives the best fit for the actual packing duty.
