Our client is one of Egypt's leading fully integrated poultry companies, managing breeding farms, hatcheries, feed mills, and layer complexes. Their flagship feed mill in the Delta region manufactures feed for millions of layer hens.

While their production line was modern, the cooling stage for their layer feed pellets had become a bottleneck. Their existing cooler, an older model vertical unit, was undersized and inefficient, struggling with the high summer ambient temperatures (often exceeding 35°C).

It failed to cool the pellets sufficiently, often leaving them with a discharge temperature of 40-45°C—only marginally cooler than the outside air. This "warm feed" had several detrimental effects: it caused fat separation and oxidation in the feed bins, reduced palatability, and most critically, contributed to heat stress in the layer houses when fed to birds already struggling with high ambient temperatures.

This was suspected of negatively impacting feed intake and, consequently, egg production rates. To optimize their layer performance and reduce nutritional losses, they initiated a project to purchase a single, high-efficiency layer feed pellet cooler.

This was a targeted performance upgrade, a direct replacement for their inadequate vertical cooler, to be installed as a core component in their layer feed production line, ensuring optimal feed condition before delivery to their farms.

The gentle flip-plate discharge was also important to minimize the generation of fines from the smaller-diameter layer pellets.
