Goat Hammer Mill Feed Grinder for Sale India: SFSP66×60 for dry bajra stover and haulms, with pre-chopping, particle testing and matched air handling.

At a regional goat feed mill in Rajasthan, a load of dry bajra stalks presents a different grinding job from a sack of groundnut haulms. Stems, leaves and moisture vary between deliveries, so the material specification matters as much as the motor rating.
This illustrative application concerns a commercial feed producer near Ajmer supplying bagged mash blends to goat farms. The business wants one dedicated forage grinder alongside its existing grain mill, chaff cutter, mixer and bagging equipment. Keeping the two grinding duties separate allows grain preparation to continue while fibrous ingredients receive their own settings.

The 55 kW SFSP66×60 animal feed hammer mill is the proposed unit. Its published grass-and-straw output provides the relevant starting point for selection. The higher grain capacity applies to a different material duty and cannot be used to budget this forage branch.
| Item | Specification or application target |
|---|---|
| Equipment | One SFSP66×60 hammer mill |
| Main motor | 55 kW |
| Rotor diameter | 660 mm |
| Grinding chamber width | 600 mm |
| Published operating speed | 2,980 rpm |
| Hammer tip speed | Approximately 103 m/s |
| Grass/straw output reference | 1,000–1,500 kg/hour, material-dependent |
| Production planning basis | 1,000 kg/hour of acceptable collected meal, subject to trials |
| Initial screen for trials | 6 mm round-hole screen |
| Ground meal target | Approximately 2–3 mm mean particle size, verified by sieving |
| Prepared feed condition | Dry, pre-chopped material; initial moisture target 12–14% wet basis |
| Electrical configuration | Three-phase, 50 Hz; motor voltage matched to confirmed site supply |
The 55 kW figure covers the grinding motor. The feeder, extraction fan and collection equipment have separate loads. Their ratings belong in the quotation once material flow and duct resistance have been assessed.
The proposed material basket uses dry pearl millet stover, commonly called bajra, groundnut haulms and selected wheat straw. These are purchased as separate lots, inspected and weighed before preparation. Their proportions in the finished goat feed follow the nutritionist’s formulation.
Moisture is checked within the bundle as well as at its surface. Damp or rain-affected lots require suitable drying and reassessment before entering this dry-grinding duty. Fresh green forage follows a separate preparation route; the hammer mill supplies size reduction rather than moisture removal.
A magnet and suitable cleaning arrangement protect the grinding chamber from metal and stones. The cutter outlet also needs inspection: an occasional long stalk can bridge a feeder even when most of the material has been chopped correctly.
The initial 6 mm screen is a trial selection. Fibres pass through openings in different orientations, while repeated impacts generate smaller fragments. The collected meal therefore contains a distribution of lengths and sizes.
Acceptance uses representative samples from the collection outlet. Sieve analysis establishes the mean size and the amounts of fines and oversize material; visual inspection checks elongated fibres that sieving can understate. The proposed 2–3 mm mean target is confirmed against mixing behaviour and the intended feed product.
Grinding everything as finely as possible would add cost and could produce excessive dust. The ground material is an ingredient in the formulated mash. Suitable longer forage remains part of the farm’s feeding programme according to nutritional guidance. Particle reduction alone establishes neither a balanced ration nor an animal-performance improvement.
The new branch connects the cutter and metered feeder to the hammer mill crusher machine, then carries ground material to a collection and weighing point before mixing. Extraction helps remove material from the chamber, while the collector separates meal from the conveying air.
Fan selection considers airflow, duct length, bends and filter resistance. The inlet must receive enough material to use the mill steadily without being flooded. Increasing feeder speed cannot compensate for a restricted outlet or a loaded filter.
The installation review covers dust containment, access to screens and hammers, foundation loading and rotor service space. The electrical contractor checks motor starting, protection, earthing and simultaneous auxiliary demand. Any filter-cleaning air requirement is listed separately. This dry grinding operation needs no process steam.
At the planning rate of 1,000 kg/hour, five productive hours provide five tonnes per day. Across 240 grinding days, that equals 1,200 tonnes of forage meal annually. It excludes the grain and other ingredients added later, as well as cleaning and changeover time.
One trained operator supervises the grinder, with a shared material handler assisting bundle preparation and movement. Actual staffing depends on how the cutter, feeder and collection bins are arranged.
Trial records should identify the material, moisture, chop length, screen, feed rate and collected output. Motor current, electricity use and particle distribution are recorded together. Comparing these results across bajra and haulm lots gives the mill settings it can use when deliveries change.
For each trial, weigh accepted raw material and collected meal on the same moisture basis. Record screenings and any material held in the collector. This establishes usable output and shows where handling losses occur before the mixer.
Screen and hammer inspections follow operating hours and changes in grind quality. Hammer replacement uses balanced sets and the manufacturer’s procedure to maintain rotor balance.
The supply scope identifies spare screens, matched hammer sets and installation drawings. Shipment planning can assess Qingdao to Jawaharlal Nehru Port at Nhava Sheva, near Mumbai, followed by inland transport to Rajasthan. Packing dimensions and the importer’s arrangements determine the final route and handling plan.
When requesting a goat hammer mill feed grinder for sale in India, send RICHI Machinery photographs and representative samples of the actual dry forage. Include moisture readings, required meal size, daily grinding quantity and details of the existing cutter. A quotation covering feeding and air handling gives the mill a usable grinding package to assess alongside the hammer mill itself.
