A chick feed pelleting system for farm production in Ireland became the strategic investment for a large-scale, integrated poultry farm in County Monaghan, in the Border Region of Ireland. Ireland has a growing broiler industry, with small chicks requiring specialized starter feeds for optimal development.

Before contacting us, the farm owner had evaluated small pellet mills from British and German manufacturers. The equipment was excellent but too large for on-farm use.
A feed industry consultant who had visited RICHI's factory in Jiaozuo recommended our SZLH250 as the smallest commercial-scale ring die feed pellet mill. The farm already had a hammer mill and a small mixer from local suppliers. What they needed was a chick feed pelleting system for on-farm production.
After a detailed review of their requirements—approximately 3,000 tons of chick starter feed annually—we recommended the SZLH250 ring die pellet mill with a 22kW main motor, configured for small-diameter pellets.
Chicks have very small beaks and cannot consume large pellets. Chick starter feed requires pellets of 2.0-3.0mm diameter, which are challenging to produce because small dies are prone to blocking. The SZLH250, with its precision-machined dies, reliably produces 2.5mm pellets.

"This chick feed pelleting system for farm production has transformed our operation. We now produce our own chick starter feed at half the cost of commercial feed. The 2.5mm pellets are perfect for day-old chicks.
The mill runs about 4 hours per day, 4 days per week. We have put about 800 hours on it. The 2.5mm die lasted 400 hours, which is acceptable given the small hole size.
The farm uses the SZLH250 feed pellet machine for duckling starter feed.
The SZLH250 was shipped from Qingdao to the Port of Dublin—about 30 days at sea. Total transit time was about 38 days.
