Türkiye 3 T/H Pistachio Shell Pellet Project Enters Final Process Confirmation

A new 3 t/h biomass pellet project in Türkiye has entered final process confirmation at RICHI Machinery after the customer completed the latest round of raw-material discussions and site information review.

The customer operates in a region where pistachio processing generates a regular shell residue stream. Instead of continuing to handle the shells mainly as a low-density by-product, the company plans to convert them into 6 mm biomass fuel pellets for suitable industrial heating applications.

Clean untreated sawdust will remain available as a supplementary material, but the project is being engineered around pistachio shell as the dominant feedstock.

Feedstock Confirmation Came Before Final Equipment Release

Pistachio shells are relatively hard and arrive in a physical form very different from loose wood powder.

Before the main process could be frozen, RICHI needed to confirm shell size, moisture condition, expected daily supply and the way the customer intends to store material before production.

Those points determine how much crushing is required before fine preparation.

The engineering team has also reviewed how supplementary sawdust could enter the process without forcing the plant to operate around one fixed blend.

No Permanent Blend Ratio Has Been Built into the Project

The customer expects the proportion of sawdust to change with availability.

For that reason, the plant is not being promoted around a formula such as “80% shell + 20% sawdust.”

A fixed ratio would create little value if local supply changes from one month to another.

Instead, the process is being prepared for pistachio-shell-dominant production with controlled addition of compatible clean wood residue where the actual material condition makes it useful.

The 3 T/H Scale Reflects Seasonal Shell Availability

The production scale was selected against the customer's realistic raw-material collection base rather than maximum machinery size.

Pistachio shell availability is linked to processing volume and seasonality.

An oversized plant would require a broader sourcing radius or extended stock accumulation that may not fit the customer's business model.

The current 3 t/h project gives the producer room for commercial pellet output while remaining closer to the shell volume it expects to control reliably.

Final Process Approval Will Release Equipment into Manufacturing

RICHI Machinery is now completing the preparation route, equipment interfaces and site layout details.

Once the customer confirms the final process plan, the main equipment will be released for production.

The Türkiye project is still before manufacturing, but much of its long-term operating logic is already being decided now: how the shell enters, where supplementary biomass joins, and how seasonal raw-material supply will support a stable pellet business.
