We've finalized an agreement with a customer from Uzbekistan to supply a complete 6 ton per hour cattle feed production line. The project moved forward after discussions about their specific needs and the local raw materials they have available.

Why This Project Is Interesting

The grass inclusion rate is the detail that caught our attention. In many parts of Central Asia, livestock rations rely heavily on forage — it's what's available, it's what the animals are used to, and it keeps costs down. But pelleting feed with 30-40% grass content isn't the same as pelleting grain-based feed.

Grass is fibrous. It doesn't compress the same way as corn or wheat. It wears dies differently. It needs different conditioning. We spent time with the customer going over these points, making sure the equipment we proposed would actually handle their formulation without constant problems.

The customer was straightforward about what they wanted: a line that could produce consistent pellets for cattle, cows, goats, and sheep, all using the same basic formula with local grass as the main fiber source. They're not interested in complex formulations with imported ingredients. They want to use what they have.

What the Line Includes

The 6 ton/hour system covers the full process:

  • Raw material receiving and cleaning
  • Hammer mill for grinding grains and grass
  • Horizontal mixer for uniform blending
  • Ring die cattle feed pellet making machine with heavy-duty die for fibrous materials
  • Counterflow cooler
  • Screening and grading
  • Automatic bagging system
  • Control panel for recipe management

The feed pellet mill die is the critical piece here. Standard dies might work for a while, but with 30-40% grass, you need something with the right compression ratio and wear characteristics. We've spec'd a heavier die with larger relief angles to handle the fiber without plugging.

Shipping and Implementation

Equipment is now in production. Once complete, it will be shipped to Uzbekistan, where the customer has site preparations underway. Our team will provide installation supervision and training to get them up and running.

Total timeline from order to production is expected to be about 5-6 months, depending on shipping and site readiness.

The Uzbekistan Context

Uzbekistan's livestock sector has been growing steadily. The government has been supporting local production to reduce dependence on imported meat and dairy. That means more demand for locally produced feed. This customer is positioning themselves to serve that market with rations based on local grass and grains.

The 30-40% grass formulation is smart economics. Grass is cheaper than imported grains, and it's what local farmers are accustomed to feeding. Pelleting it just makes handling easier and reduces waste.

What We Learned From This Customer

A few takeaways from working with this customer:

  • They knew their raw materials and weren't interested in changing just to suit the equipment. We had to adapt to them, not the other way around.
  • They asked good questions about die life and maintenance costs for high-fiber formulations. This wasn't their first equipment purchase.
  • They wanted simplicity — straightforward controls, easy maintenance access, minimal complicated parts.

It's a reminder that every region has its own way of doing things. The equipment has to fit the local reality, not some idealized version of how feed "should" be made.
