Customized 5 T/H Powder Feed Production Line Arrives at Customer Site in Ethiopia

A customized 5 T/H powder feed production line supplied by RICHI Machinery has arrived at the customer's site in Ethiopia. After receiving the equipment, the customer shared photos from the project site with our team, marking another important step from equipment manufacturing and shipment toward on-site installation.

Unlike a conventional pellet feed plant, this project is designed for the production of finished feed in powder or mash form. The processing route therefore focuses on the operations actually required by the customer's production plan rather than adding a pelleting section that is not needed. Following the arrival of the equipment, installation and subsequent preparation for commissioning will proceed with technical guidance from RICHI Machinery.

A Customized 5 T/H Powder Feed Production Line for Ethiopia

Feed production projects do not always require pellets. Depending on the livestock being raised, local feeding practices, available ingredients and the customer's business model, powder or mash feed can be the more practical finished product.

For this Ethiopian project, the customer selected a customized powder feed production solution with a designed capacity of 5 tons per hour. Instead of simply adapting a standard pellet feed plant, RICHI configured the production system around the customer's required feed form and processing route.

The animal feed factory project demonstrates an important principle in feed mill design: the production process should be determined by the customer's raw materials and finished-feed requirements rather than by a fixed equipment package.

A powder feed plant normally concentrates on processes such as raw material receiving, cleaning, crushing, batching, mixing and finished-product handling according to the actual formulation and automation requirements. Because there is no need to form pellets, the process configuration differs substantially from a complete livestock feed pellet production line.

For a 5 T/H project, correct matching between these individual sections is particularly important. The capacity of the crusher, mixer, conveying equipment, batching system and other processing units needs to be coordinated so that one section does not become the bottleneck of the complete feed production system.

Equipment Reaches the Ethiopian Customer Site

The equipment has now completed the manufacturing and transportation stages and reached the project site in Ethiopia.

The site photos sent by the customer show the equipment after arrival and unloading. For RICHI Machinery, delivery is not the end of a feed mill project. The next stage is to turn individual machines and supporting systems into a production line that can operate according to the planned process.

Installation will therefore proceed according to the project layout and equipment arrangement developed for this customized animal feed production line. Why This Project Uses Powder Feed Production Instead of Pelleting

In a pellet feed plant, the mixed feed normally continues through conditioning and pelletizing, followed by downstream processes such as cooling and screening. A powder feed line can stop after the required crushing, batching, mixing and finished-feed handling processes.

Removing unnecessary pelleting operations can change the plant's equipment configuration, power demand, workshop arrangement and overall investment structure. More importantly, it allows the production system to remain aligned with the customer's actual product.

This is why RICHI does not treat every feed mill inquiry as a pellet plant project.

For customers planning a new animal feed factory, several questions should be clarified before the equipment configuration is finalized: What livestock will the feed be used for? Will the finished product be mash, pellets or both? What raw materials are locally available? How many feed formulas will be produced? What is the required hourly and daily output? Will ingredients be weighed manually or through an automatic batching system? Will the finished feed be used by the customer's own farm or sold commercially?
