Installation Completed for RICHI 10 T/H Ruminant Feed Mill in Mauritania

RICHI Machinery has completed the installation of a 10 T/H ruminant feed production line in Mauritania. With the main processing equipment, conveying sections and supporting systems now installed, the project has reached mechanical completion and is preparing to move into equipment checks, line testing and subsequent commissioning.

The customer selected RICHI after visiting the manufacturing facility and discussing the project construction plan with the technical team. The final solution was developed around cattle and sheep feed production at a commercial scale, requiring the individual processing sections to work as one coordinated system rather than relying on the capacity of the feed pellet mill alone.

From Equipment Installation to a Complete Feed Processing System

Mechanical completion is an important milestone for a feed mill of this scale. The project is no longer a collection of separate machines: grinding, batching, mixing, pelletizing, cooling, screening and material handling have been connected according to the designed production flow. Equipment positioning, conveying routes and maintenance access also need to correspond to the operating requirements of the complete plant.

For a 10 T/H cattle and sheep feed pellet production line, the balance between these sections is particularly important. A bottleneck in raw material preparation, mixing or downstream cooling can prevent the plant from achieving stable production even when the main pelletizing equipment has sufficient nominal capacity.

Ruminant Feed Places Different Demands on the Process

Cattle and sheep feed production needs to reflect the characteristics of the formulations being processed. Depending on the customer's feed program, ingredients can include grains, bran and other milling by-products, protein meals, minerals and premixes, together with suitable fibrous feed materials. Higher-fiber formulations behave differently from many conventional poultry feeds during conveying, grinding, mixing and pelletizing.

Fibrous materials can have lower bulk density and different flow characteristics, while particle preparation needs to support both feed formulation and stable downstream processing. The equipment configuration therefore needs to consider the complete raw material structure rather than treating ruminant feed as simply another pellet diameter produced on a standard line.

10 T/H Capacity Requires Commercial-Scale Material Coordination

At the designed capacity, the plant can theoretically produce around 80 tons during an eight-hour shift or around 160 tons across two eight-hour shifts. Actual output will depend on formulation, raw material properties, pellet specifications, changeovers, equipment utilization and maintenance.

These volumes make raw material receiving, storage and finished-feed handling important parts of plant operation. Ingredient supply must keep pace with production, while finished feed needs to move efficiently into storage, packing or dispatch. The customer's production schedule will therefore involve not only running the processing machines but also coordinating inventory and material movement across the facility.

Installation Completion Starts a New Set of Checks

Completing mechanical installation does not mean the plant immediately enters routine production. The next work is to verify that each installed section performs correctly and that the equipment can operate together according to the process design.

Commissioning Will Focus on Actual Ruminant Feed Production

Once the mechanical and electrical checks are completed, the project can progress toward material testing. This stage is where equipment settings begin to be matched with the customer's actual feed formulations. Grinding condition, ingredient flow, mixing sequence, feeding stability and pelletizing parameters can then be evaluated under real production conditions.

Commissioning is especially important when the plant handles formulas with different grain-to-fiber ratios. A formulation containing more fibrous material may not move or pelletize in exactly the same way as one dominated by grain and meals. Operating parameters therefore need to be established around the products the customer intends to manufacture rather than using one fixed setting for every feed.

A New Production Platform for Cattle and Sheep Feed

With installation completed, the Mauritania project has moved from construction into the final preparation stage before production. The next objective is to verify complete-line operation and establish stable processing parameters so the 10 T/H plant can transition into routine cattle and sheep feed manufacturing.
