The cooperative processes primarily large square bales of wheat straw and alfalfa, each weighing 200–400 kg and with diameters up to 2 meters. Straw moisture content after harvest ranges between 12–18%, requiring robust machines that can handle both dry and slightly moist bales. The goal is to reduce bales to a uniform 20–30 mm size for animal bedding, improving absorption and hygiene in pig and dairy barns.
Uniform bedding particle size reduces ammonia build-up, ensures animal comfort, and also allows some processed straw to be supplied to biomass pellet producers nearby.

The machine is equipped with hardened manganese steel hammers with quenching treatment and tungsten overlay for enhanced wear resistance.
