Small chicken manure compost granulating machine in Ukraine for 800–1,000 kg/h: FZLH250, mature compost preparation and 6 mm organic fertilizer pellets.

A bag of compost pellets has to do more than look tidy. It must contain a stable product that farmers can store, measure and apply. This illustrative application case places a small chicken manure compost granulating machine in Ukraine at a regional compost producer preparing to add bagged pellets alongside its loose compost sales.
The customer profile is a small independent business in central Ukraine, collecting poultry manure from local egg farms and using wheat straw during composting. Its existing operation includes composting and curing areas, a crusher, mixer, drying equipment and bagging facilities. Vegetable growers, orchard operators and nearby arable farms are the intended buyers. The proposed purchase is one FZLH250 ring-die fertilizer granulator machine, integrated into this existing operation.
Name:
Chicken Manure Compost Granulating Machine
Country:
Ukraine
Date:
2026
Capacity:
0.8-1T/H
Model:
FZLH250
Main Motor Power:
22 kW
Raw Materials:
Mature chicken-manure and wheat-straw compost
Pellet diameter:
6 mm
The product specification calls for cylindrical organic fertilizer pellets with a 6 mm diameter and a target length of 8–15 mm. The ring-die holes determine diameter; the cutter controls length. Limiting long pieces helps reduce bridging in bags, hoppers and application equipment.
| Product requirement | Project target |
|---|---|
| Material | Mature chicken-manure and wheat-straw compost |
| Pellet diameter | 6 mm |
| Target pellet length | 8–15 mm |
| Packaging moisture | 15% maximum project target, verified by testing |
| Packaging | 25 kg bags for regional sale |
| Application | Soil incorporation or spreading with compatible equipment |
Spreader suitability needs checking with the actual pellets. Diameter alone cannot establish the application rate or spreading pattern. Nutrient declarations also depend on laboratory analysis of the compost, including nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and organic matter. Granulation changes handling characteristics; it does not establish nutrient content.
Fresh layer manure commonly contains around 75% moisture and is much wetter than the material suitable for this press. The proposed process first combines manure with chopped straw for controlled composting, followed by curing. Any wood shavings already present as bedding must be untreated and sufficiently decomposed. Fresh shavings are not added immediately before granulation merely to absorb water.
Straw addition is adjusted against moisture, porosity and carbon-to-nitrogen measurements. A fixed weight recipe cannot account for differences between wet manure, partially dried manure and bedding-rich material. Composting records, stability checks and relevant hygiene testing establish whether a batch is ready for further processing.
The prepared feed is screened, cleared of stones and metal, and reduced mainly to 1–3 mm particles. Long fibres and oversized pieces return for grinding. A starting moisture window of 15–18% on a wet basis is used for pelleting trials. The existing dryer corrects excessive moisture; small water adjustments, when needed, are mixed evenly before feeding.
The FZLH250 chicken manure pellet machine is the smaller commercial poultry manure pellet mill selected for this application. Its published capacity is a reference for prepared organic material, while the project planning rate is deliberately lower. Compost consistency, die selection, motor load and the surrounding equipment determine the achievable operating rate.
| Equipment parameter | Specification or design basis |
|---|---|
| Model and quantity | One FZLH250 |
| Granulation method | Ring-die compression |
| Main motor | 22 kW |
| Anti-bridging feeder motor | 2.2 kW |
| Forced feeder motor | 0.75 kW |
| Listed motor total | 24.95 kW, excluding external auxiliaries |
| Ring-die inner diameter | 250 mm |
| Selected die-hole diameter | 6 mm |
| Published capacity reference | 1,000–1,500 kg/h |
| Project planning range | 800–1,000 kg/h, subject to material trials |
The anti-bridging feeder addresses uneven flow from fibrous compost, while forced feeding maintains delivery into the pressing chamber. Neither feature compensates for unground straw or unsuitable moisture. Die compression characteristics are selected through testing rather than copied from a biomass fuel pellet specification.
The planning calculation uses 800 kg/h for four productive hours on 125 operating days: 400 tonnes of prepared compost annually. These are press operating hours, with preparation, cleaning and maintenance scheduled separately. This arrangement allows a small producer to build batches of cured material and pellet them between other compost-handling duties.
Prepared feed and saleable pellets are recorded separately. For example, 400 tonnes of feed at 16% moisture contains 336 tonnes of dry solids. If the finished pellets test at 14% moisture, the corresponding mass is approximately 391 tonnes before screening losses, assuming negligible dry-solids loss. That is a calculation for production planning, not a reported annual result.
Material supply must support this prepared-compost quantity after composting losses and drying. The calculation therefore starts with weighed, usable batches rather than the wet manure collected at the poultry house.
Pellets leave the pressing chamber warm and need controlled cooling before screening and bagging. The integration scope must provide this stage and check whether additional drying is necessary to meet the packaging moisture target. Cooling alone is not assumed to remove a fixed amount of water.
Packaging checks cover both pellet temperature and moisture. Samples are taken through the batch, including material collected after handling, so loose fines and short pieces can be assessed under realistic conditions. Bags are kept under cover, off damp floors and away from rain entering loading areas.
Screened fines return to controlled reprocessing. Recycle volume counts towards the press load, so it cannot be added to saleable output. A packing capacity of 40 bags per hour is allowed for 25 kg bags to cover the upper project planning rate.
A preliminary two-person batch crew covers press supervision and material handling, cooling, screening and packing; maintenance support is shared. The electrical design uses a 400 V, 50 Hz, three-phase basis, with actual site voltage and starting capacity checked before manufacture. Feeding must stop on a press fault, with controlled restart after a power interruption.
The producer needs pellets that survive transfer into bags, discharge through the intended spreader and break down appropriately after soil incorporation. Trial assessment therefore includes pellet dimensions, handling losses, storage behaviour and application checks. Excessive hardness is not automatically an advantage for a compost fertilizer.
Batch records connect those observations with moisture, ingredient condition, feeder settings and motor current. This gives the production team a repeatable operating basis and helps identify whether a problem comes from the press, material preparation or downstream handling.
The layout review covers feeder access, discharge height, dust extraction, foundation loads and space for die removal. Existing workshop dimensions determine the final arrangement. Spare-part planning should prioritise the selected die, roller shells, cutter components and specified seals.
A possible delivery plan is shipment from Qingdao to Gdańsk, followed by arranged inland transport into Ukraine. The carrier confirms the route, border arrangements and transport conditions when booking. Packing dimensions and installation drawings are agreed before dispatch.
RICHI Machinery can assess a small chicken manure compost granulating machine in Ukraine around a representative compost sample. Provide its moisture, particle-size distribution, composition, available tonnes of screened, mature compost per week and the required pellet specification. Add the existing dryer, cooling and packing details, site power supply and workshop layout so the quotation identifies which equipment can be reused and which interfaces need work.
