With this model, the mill can produce 2.5–4 tons of rice husk pellets per day by running the machine in two shifts. This amount is sufficient to supply a few nearby textile units that are already testing biomass fuel alternatives.
The raw material for this project is 100% rice husk. Unlike some countries where husk is blended with sawdust or crop straw to improve binding, in Pakistan, husk is abundant enough to use directly.
Before pelletizing, the husk is dried to 12–14% moisture content. This ensures smooth compression in the die and results in durable pellets with low powder residue. The 8 mm pellet size was selected after consultation with local boiler operators, who confirmed that it burns efficiently in their systems.
