This RICHI raw cereal grain extruder is the first major thermal-mechanical process in the new plant. Wheat flour or corn meal is precisely metered into the preconditioner, where steam and water are injected to hydrate and begin cooking the starch.
This conditioned mash enters the extruder barrel, where the massive screws generate tremendous shear and pressure, completing the starch transformation into a viscous, hot dough. As this dough exits through a multi-hole die, the instantaneous pressure drop causes it to expand into long, porous, continuous strands, which are then cut into short, cylindrical pellets.
These expanded cereal pellets are then dried to a specific moisture content. They form the primary carbohydrate base. In the next stage, they are ground into a coarse meal, mixed with fishmeal, oils, vitamins, and binders, and then re-extruded in a secondary extruder to form the final floating fish feed pellets.
The quality of the initial expanded cereal directly determines the float rate, water stability, and physical durability of the final feed. By mastering this first step with the RICHI extruder, the Kazakh company ensures their entire product line meets international standards.

Given the plant's location in Aktau, the most direct and cost-effective route was via the Port of Aktau, Kazakhstan itself, a major Caspian Sea port.
The shipment traveled by sea to a transit port like Baku (Azerbaijan) or directly across the Caspian, then by feeder vessel to Aktau. After customs clearance at the port, it had a very short truck journey to the construction site.
