This project concerns a 3 t/h Wood Waste Pelletizing Machine for Furniture Factories in Vietnam. The client is a mid-sized furniture manufacturer located in the southern part of Vietnam. Their main business is exporting wooden indoor furniture, mostly made from rubber wood and acacia.

The project behind this 3t/h furniture factory wood waste pellet making machine in Vietnam didn’t begin as a formal investment plan. It actually started from a simple but very common problem—too much leftover material.
The client is a mid-sized furniture manufacturer located in the southern part of Vietnam. Their main business is exporting wooden indoor furniture, mostly made from rubber wood and acacia.
Over the years, production increased steadily, but so did the amount of wood waste: sawdust, sanding powder, small offcuts, and even some rejected panels.
At first, these residues were sold cheaply to local collectors. But prices kept fluctuating, sometimes dropping to almost nothing during the rainy season. Storage became another issue—wet sawdust piles are not only messy but also a fire risk. During one of our early calls, the client asked a very direct question:
“Can we turn this waste into something that we can actually sell at a stable price?”

Interestingly, the client didn’t want a complete wood pellet production line at the beginning. That decision was quite deliberate.
They already had:

So instead of investing heavily all at once, they chose to purchase a single wood waste pellet mill in Vietnam to test the business model first.
From an engineering point of view, this approach actually makes sense. Start small, validate the market, then expand.
Although the project is labeled as a furniture factory wood waste pellet making machine in Vietnam, the actual raw material mix is slightly more complex.
About 70% of the feedstock is rubber wood sawdust. The rest includes:
One challenge discussed early on was moisture variability. Fresh sawdust from cutting lines can be above 40% moisture, while sanding dust is often below 10%. Mixing became important before feeding into the wood pellet mill in Vietnam.
For this biomass pellet project, the selected model is MZLH768, designed for a capacity range of 3.0–4.0 tons per hour.
Some people might wonder why not choose a smaller model like MZLH678. The answer came from the client’s production rhythm. Their factory runs two shifts, and waste generation is quite concentrated during certain hours.
They needed a wood pellet press in Vietnam that could handle peak loads without choking. Also, the client is already thinking ahead. If the pellet business works well, they plan to expand to two shifts of pellet production. So choosing a slightly larger biomass pellet machine in Vietnam gives them flexibility.

They are mainly sold locally as industrial fuel, especially to:
Vietnam has a growing demand for biomass fuel, particularly in regions where coal usage is being restricted. Compared to loose sawdust, pellets are easier to transport, store, and burn more efficiently.
The client mentioned something practical during commissioning:“Before, we were paying to clean up waste. Now, trucks come to pick up pellets.”
Like most of our projects in Southeast Asia, this machine was shipped by sea from Qingdao Port. The destination port for this wood waste pellet machine in Vietnam was Ho Chi Minh Port, which is the closest major port to the client’s factory.
Transport itself wasn’t complicated, but extra attention was paid to packaging because Vietnam’s climate is humid. Electrical components were sealed carefully to avoid moisture damage during transit.
Even though it’s a single wood pellet mill in Vietnam, installation still required some adjustments on-site.
The client’s existing workshop wasn’t originally designed for pellet production.
So adjustments were needed for:
One small but important detail was that the sanding dust was too fine and tended to bridge inside the hopper. The anti-arching feeder played a crucial role here. Without it, feeding would have been inconsistent. These are the kinds of things that don’t show up in brochures, but they matter in real production.
After a few weeks of trial runs, the furniture factory wood waste pellet making machine in Vietnam stabilized at around 3.2 tons per hour. Not bad, considering the variability of raw materials. The client initially worried about die wear due to mixed materials, especially MDF residues.
Strict control of input ratio helped keep the ring die lifespan within expected range. Energy consumption was another topic. The 250 kW motor sounds large, but when calculated per ton of output, it’s quite competitive.
This came up during early discussions. There are cheaper wood pelletizers in Vietnam available locally.

We don’t usually hear back unless something goes wrong.
In this case, the client reached out again after about three months.
