A fertilizer producer near Biratnagar uses one FZLH350 cow dung processing machine to pelletize stabilized cattle-manure compost into practical 5 mm fertilizer pellets.

3–5 T/H Cow Dung Processing Machine in Nepal

OVERVIEW

A regional fertilizer producer near Biratnagar selected one FZLH350 Cow Dung Processing Machine in Nepal to strengthen the pelletizing stage for stabilized cattle-manure fertilizer. The business collects cow dung from nearby dairy farms, prepares mature compost with selected agricultural residues, and sells bagged organic fertilizer mainly through local dealers and farmer cooperatives across the eastern Terai.

The customer already had composting space, a crusher, mixer, moisture-adjustment equipment, conveyors and basic packing equipment, so the purchase remained a standalone retrofit rather than a complete fertilizer line. The FZLH350 provides about 3–5 T/H reference pelletizing capacity on properly prepared material, a better fit for this regional market than a larger 6–8 T/H machine.

Why the Eastern Terai Fits a Regional Cow-Dung Fertilizer Project

The eastern Terai combines livestock farming with intensive rice, maize, wheat and vegetable production, giving a fertilizer processor access to both manure and crop-residue streams. The project therefore works as an aggregation business rather than a single-farm installation. Mature fertilizer is prepared in batches from material collected across several suppliers before it is sent to the pelletizing section.

Cow dung remains the principal livestock input, but the plant can also evaluate buffalo manure where collection and treatment are controlled. Rice straw and other cereal residues are obtained through farms or aggregators rather than described as rice-mill waste, because straw is generated in the field after harvest. Clean untreated sawdust can be used selectively when additional dry carbon is useful during compost preparation.

The customer serves relatively small farms and dealer networks, so production is scheduled in campaigns instead of running continuously at maximum hourly capacity. This keeps the machine matched to realistic sales and mature-compost inventory. It also avoids forcing a larger organic fertilizer pellet machine into a market where packaging, storage and distribution may limit finished fertilizer before the forming section reaches its nameplate capability.

The FZLH350 Cow Dung Pellet Making Machine uses a 37 kW main motor, 2.2 kW anti-bridging feeder and 0.75 kW forced feeder with a 350 mm ring die. That scale gives the customer enough commercial output for short production campaigns without requiring the prepared-material inventory and electrical demand of an FZLH420. The feeder system helps stabilize flow, but it does not make wet dung or long straw suitable for direct pelleting.

The 3–5 T/H figure applies to the ring-die forming stage and is not a fresh-manure intake rate. Actual output depends on compost maturity, moisture, particle distribution, fibre content, die specification and feeding stability. A 5 mm die can also impose more resistance than a larger hole, so the plant tracks real tonnes per hour by fertilizer grade rather than treating the top reference figure as a fixed result.

Fresh Cow Dung Must Be Stabilized Before It Reaches the Pellet Machine

Fresh dung is not moved from the dairy farm directly into the FZLH350 fertilizer granulator machine. It first passes through controlled biological stabilization so moisture, odor, microbial activity and physical structure become more manageable. Where the incoming material is very wet, drainage, solid separation or staged moisture reduction may be required before or during compost preparation, depending on the collection system used by each supplier.

Drying alone does not replace composting or another suitable stabilization route. The pelletizer also does not create nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium or organic matter. Those properties come from the raw materials and formulation, so the processor uses material analysis to decide how cow-dung compost, buffalo-manure compost, crop residues and any permitted mineral additions should be combined for each commercial product.

Rice straw is cut or ground before final mixing when its fibre length is too large for stable feeding. It can support carbon balance and structure during composting, but it is not assigned one permanent percentage or described as an automatic binder. Clean sawdust is handled the same way: useful in selected batches, but excessive woody material can dilute nutrients and should not be added simply to improve pellet appearance.

How the Cow Dung Processing Machine in Nepal Fits the Production Flow

  1. Cow dung and other approved organic materials are received and inspected.
  2. Fresh livestock manure undergoes biological stabilization before fertilizer finishing.
  3. Mature compost is screened, and coarse lumps or long fibres are reduced where required.
  4. Qualified components are proportioned and mixed to the intended fertilizer specification.
  5. Moisture and feeding behaviour are checked before the FZLH350.
  6. The ring-die machine forms the prepared mixture into 5 mm cylindrical pellets.
  7. Warm pellets are cooled, screened and transferred to storage or bagging.

The Cow Dung Processing Machine in Nepal sits near the end of this process. Its role is mechanical densification of a prepared fertilizer blend, not raw-manure treatment. This process boundary is especially important in a retrofit because the customer can continue using its composting and mixing assets while improving the consistency of the final physical form without misusing the pelletizer as a dryer or sanitizer.

Moisture is adjusted from actual material behaviour rather than one permanent target. A blend that is too wet can feed poorly and produce soft pellets, while an overly dry mixture can create dust and higher compression resistance. Operators therefore evaluate feeder stability, motor load, pellet surface, fines and cooling together before making any adjustment to upstream drying or controlled moisture addition.

Cooling capacity is sized to the pelletizer's instantaneous discharge rather than average daily tonnage. Fresh pellets need enough residence time to lose process heat before bagging, and screening removes loose fines or broken pieces. Persistent fines are treated as process feedback because poor preparation, unsuitable moisture, die wear or rough conveying can all affect the finished product even when the ring-die machine is operating normally.

Five-Millimeter Pellets Are More Credible for This Finished Fertilizer

The organic fertilizer production project uses 5 mm cylindrical fertilizer pellets rather than an 8 mm or 10 mm default. Research on granular organic fertilizers commonly evaluates diameters around 4–6 mm for spreader application, and other fertilizer-pellet studies have used 5 mm die openings. A 5 mm product therefore gives this Nepal project a more credible commercial size while remaining fully inside the machine's 4–12 mm capability.

Finished pellet length is controlled by the cutter and operating condition rather than by ring-die hole diameter alone. The case therefore fixes the commercial diameter at 5 mm but does not invent one exact cylinder length that was never provided by the customer. Diameter and cut length are physical specifications only; neither one proves slower nutrient release, higher fertilizer value or better crop response.

Larger 8–12 mm pellets remain technically possible, but they are not treated as the default simply because the equipment can make them. A larger size would need a specific buyer, application method or handling reason. This distinction is now part of the project sizing logic: the machine's available range is checked first, then the actual finished-product size is selected from realistic fertilizer use rather than convenience.

Monsoon Conditions, Utilities and Storage Affect Daily Operation

Nepal's monsoon season makes covered storage important for both mature compost and finished pellets. Re-wetted compost can alter feeder behaviour, while bagging warm pellets in humid conditions can encourage condensation inside storage. The plant therefore keeps mature material off wet ground, protects finished product from rainfall and allows cooled pellets to stabilize before bags are stacked for dealer or cooperative distribution.

The 37 kW main motor is only one part of the electrical requirement. The anti-bridging feeder, forced feeder, conveyors, crusher, cooler, screen and dust-control equipment add their own loads, so the customer checks transformer capacity, motor starting and cable sizing for the whole operating section. This matters in a regional Nepal project where site power quality can be more limiting than the nominal motor rating alone.

Wear is managed from processed tonnes and material cleanliness rather than a promised number of operating hours. Soil, stones and excessive mineral contamination in collected manure can accelerate wear on the ring die and rollers. The plant therefore screens mature compost, controls foreign matter and schedules inspection around campaign production so one standalone pelletizer does not become a maintenance bottleneck.

Landlocked Logistics and Future Capacity Planning

Nepal has no seaport, so the machinery route cannot be described as direct sea freight to Biratnagar. A practical route is ocean shipment to an Indian gateway followed by inland movement toward the Nepal border and clearance through the Biratnagar integrated check post for an eastern Terai site. Final routing depends on the forwarder, carrier and import arrangement, so the project does not assign a fixed transit or customs period.

Future expansion begins with mature-compost supply, not a second pelletizer. If composting, crushing, mixing, cooling, bagging or warehouse space is already full, additional ring-die capacity would only move the bottleneck. The customer first tracks operating hours and where material accumulates, then decides whether the next investment should be another pelletizer or stronger upstream and downstream support equipment.

For another buyer evaluating a Cow Dung Processing Machine in Nepal, RICHI Machinery would review manure collection form, compost maturity, moisture, crop-residue content, particle distribution, target fertilizer analysis, required 4–6 mm pellet specification, daily sales, mixer and cooler capacity, electrical supply, bag size, warehouse conditions and available L × W × H before confirming the machine and die configuration.
