1.6-3T/H Cattle Silage Feed Making Machine in Peru

Cattle Silage Feed Making Machine in Peru: a 9Z-3.0 forage chopper application for oat silage, with 25–35 mm cuts and 60 Hz site planning.

1.6-3T/H Cattle Silage Feed Making Machine in Peru

OVERVIEW

The useful output of a silage chopper is the forage that reaches storage in time to be packed and sealed. Faster cutting has little value if trailers queue at the silo or long stems prevent close packing.

This illustrative application places a cattle silage feed making machine in Peru at a dairy cooperative's shared forage preparation point near Cajamarca. Member farms already arrange harvesting, local transport, tractor compaction and trench storage. Their purchase brief covers one stationary forage chopper to replace a worn cutter and prepare seasonal oat crops for conservation.

Follow the oat crop from harvest to the receiving pad

Whole-crop forage oats suit this northern Andean setting. Peruvian forage guidance identifies oats grown in Cajamarca for fresh feeding, hay and silage, with harvesting for silage around the milk-to-dough grain stage. The actual harvest decision also needs a dry-matter measurement.

The proposed operating envelope is wilted oat forage at 30–35% dry matter, equivalent to 65–70% moisture on a wet basis. This is a planning window for the crop and storage method, to be confirmed with the cooperative's adviser. Wetter loads need assessment and, where appropriate, further field wilting before chopping.

The receiving check records crop maturity, moisture and contamination. Stones, wire, soil-laden material and spoiled forage must be excluded. Whole plants arrive with stems and leaves intact; they need controlled cutting rather than fine grinding.

For this application, the initial nominal cut target is 25–35 mm, consistent with local oat-forage preparation guidance. Actual chopped material contains a distribution of lengths. Sampling must identify long uncut stems as well as excessive fines, with adjustments checked against packing behaviour and the cattle ration's effective fibre requirements.

A single 9Z-3.0 forage chopper at the storage site

The proposed machine is the 9Z-3.0. Its published throughput provides a reference envelope for a modest shared operation. The crop-specific planning point is 2,000 kg/h of fresh forage, pending a representative cutting test and confirmation of the motor duty at site elevation.

Equipment item Reference specification or application requirement
Machine type and quantity One stationary forage chopper
Model 9Z-3.0
Main motor reference rating 4 kW
Published reference throughput 1,600–3,000 kg/h
Application planning point 2,000 kg/h of fresh oat forage; trial confirmation required
Reference cutter shaft speed 800 rpm
Listed cutting blades Six
Reference overall dimensions 1,230 × 1,150 × 1,700 mm
Initial nominal chop target 25–35 mm, subject to material testing
Electrical configuration 60 Hz; phase arrangement, voltage and altitude rating to be confirmed

Powered feed rollers advance the forage towards the cutting assembly. Feed advance and blade action determine nominal cut length. Knife condition and counterknife clearance also affect whether stems are cut cleanly or leave the outlet in long strips.

The cutting test should use the cooperative's wilted oats, including a representative share of thicker stems. A demonstration on dry straw would not establish performance on this material. The quoted package should identify the motor, transmission guards, feeding arrangement, discharge chute, blade set and adjustment instructions.

Size the harvest day around the packing crew

At the planning point, five productive chopping hours prepare 10 tonnes of fresh forage. Twelve such harvest days represent a 120-tonne campaign. At 30–35% dry matter, that incoming crop contains 36–42 tonnes of dry matter before conservation losses. These quantities describe material prepared for ensiling, not feed recovered from storage.

The campaign should be divided into storage cells that can be filled and sealed promptly. Silo-face dimensions must also suit daily feed-out, so the dairy group exposes a manageable quantity when opening each cell.

That schedule gives the cooperative a practical way to coordinate field cutting, transport and silo filling. Incoming loads should match the team's ability to spread and compact the crop. A larger chopper would require matching increases in handling and packing capacity.

The discharge arrangement needs a short, clean route to a cart, trailer or suitable transfer conveyor. The machine requires a stable working position, protected feeding access and a clear discharge area. Receiving space, trailer movement and blade-service access extend beyond the listed machine dimensions.

Staffing must cover the guarded infeed, material handling and supervision of the cutter, with separate provision for tractor transport and silo compaction. The final labour plan depends on loading assistance and the distance to storage.

Check the output before accepting the installation

A useful acceptance run weighs fresh material processed over a recorded interval and measures downtime for loading or clearing. Several discharge samples establish the length distribution. The operator also checks motor current, feed-roller grip, discharge consistency and access for routine knife maintenance.

The purchasing objective is repeatable forage preparation at a rate the storage team can handle. Claimed gains in milk yield, storage life or labour savings require separate farm records and cannot be established by a cutting demonstration.

Specify the drive for an Andean installation

Peru uses a nominal 60 Hz electricity supply. The actual farm voltage, available phases, starting method and protection must be confirmed before selecting the motor and transmission arrangement. The approved configuration must maintain the intended cutter shaft speed.

Elevation deserves its own check. Standard motor ratings often have altitude limits, and reduced cooling at a highland site can change permissible continuous loading. RICHI's quotation should address the declared elevation and ambient conditions rather than assume that the reference 4 kW rating establishes the available site duty.

Chopping requires no steam or thermal drying connection. The site still needs suitable electrical isolation, cleaning arrangements and drainage. Maintenance procedures must prevent access to moving blades and feed rollers.

Delivery planning can use Qingdao to Callao, followed by road transport to Cajamarca. Final packing dimensions, lifting provisions and rural access determine the transport arrangement. Remote installation guidance and operator instruction can be specified for this single-machine supply.

Keep the stored forage fit for feeding

After chopping, the crop must be compacted and sealed promptly for anaerobic fermentation. Storage management determines conservation performance. At feed-out, the cooperative should inspect the silage and account for losses.

The eventual feed is fermented, chopped oat forage for the roughage portion of dairy cattle rations. A nutritionist balances concentrates and minerals at feeding using forage analysis and the herd's production requirements.

For a cattle silage feed making machine in Peru, begin an enquiry with the crop species, harvest condition, measured dry matter, daily fresh tonnage, packing capacity, site elevation and electrical details. RICHI Machinery can use those inputs to define the cutter configuration, supply boundary and material test required before purchase.
