In early 2025, a cattle farming enterprise in northern Spain, in the autonomous community of Castilla y León, contacted RICHI Machinery regarding the purchase of a single-unit animal feed hammer mill. The customer operates a medium-sized cattle farm, raising approximately 600 head of beef cattle for domestic and EU meat markets. The farm had previously relied on outsourcing the grinding of grains for their cattle feed formulations, which led to inconsistent feed quality and increased operational costs. After expanding their storage and mixing capabilities in 2024, the customer decided to bring grain grinding operations in-house, marking the final step toward full on-site feed production.
The client did not aim to purchase a full animal feed production line but only required a standalone hammer mill to integrate into their existing system, which already included a mixer machine and a feed pellet machine. The main need was for a durable and efficient machine that could grind local raw materials such as corn, barley, and sunflower seed cake into a consistent particle size suitable for pelletizing cattle feed.

This model met the client’s expected daily throughput while ensuring enough power to handle fibrous materials occasionally mixed into the ration, such as alfalfa stems and wheat bran.
