Mongolia 8 T/H Horse Feed Production Plant Begins Installation for Multi-Formula Pellet Production

Installation has begun on an 8 t/h horse feed production plant developed for a Mongolian feed company serving breeding operations, riding facilities and larger horse farms.

The customer wants to manufacture several feed types rather than sell only compressed alfalfa or cereal pellets. That changes the project from a forage pellet plant into a complete compound-feed factory.

Local Forage and Concentrate Ingredients Meet in One Factory

The production program can use prepared alfalfa or grass meal together with oats, barley, wheat bran and other approved cereal/protein ingredients.

One representative adult-horse pellet under evaluation contains approximately 25–35% forage meal, 20–30% oats, 15–25% barley or other cereals, 8–15% bran, with protein ingredients, vegetable oil, minerals, salt and premix making up the remainder.

Different products for breeding horses, working animals or other feeding programs require different formulas.

The customer's nutrition team remains responsible for final nutrient specifications.

The Main Engineering Problem Is Fiber Handling

Forage meal has lower bulk density and different flow behavior from cereal grain.

RICHI therefore separated fibrous ingredient storage from the principal grain bins.

Where dried forage arrives in bales rather than meal, it must first pass through bale opening and forage crushing before entering the feed plant.

Already prepared forage meal can bypass those steps.

This prevents the customer from paying the energy cost of processing material twice.

Installation Is Proceeding by Production Zone

Rather than installing equipment in the order it arrived, the site team is working through functional production areas.

The current sequence is:

1. grain and forage receiving;
2. grinding and prepared-material storage;
3. batching and micro-ingredient addition;
4. mixing and liquid addition;
5. conditioning and pelletizing;
6. cooling and screening;
7. finished-feed storage and packing.

The primary horse pellet range is approximately 6–10 mm depending on formula and target customer.

The 8 t/h capacity refers to the main plant class; high-fiber formulas and larger pellets may operate differently from cereal-rich products.

Cold-Climate Operation Was Considered During Layout Review

The customer's climate affects material storage and operating arrangements.

RICHI Machinery has paid particular attention to enclosed ingredient handling, access for maintenance and the placement of sensitive dosing/control equipment.

The objective is not to make the plant unnecessarily complex, but to reduce avoidable production interruptions under the customer's actual operating environment.

Finished feed will be sold mainly in 20–25 kg bags for equine channels, with larger farm-use sacks available for selected customers.

Why the Customer Chose a Multi-Formula Layout

A simpler plant could make one forage-rich pellet continuously.

The customer instead wants to serve several horse-feed markets.

Additional ingredient bins, controlled batching and recipe management increase flexibility and allow the company to respond to different feed programs without installing another complete line.

The project therefore develops a much broader keyword group than “alfalfa pellet mill”: horse feed production line, equine feed pellet plant, oat barley horse feed machine, 8 t/h horse feed mill Mongolia, alfalfa meal horse feed production equipment, and commercial horse pellet feed factory.

Mechanical installation will next move into electrical connection and control-system integration before no-load testing.
