Air filtration pellets are used as filter media in certain industrial air scrubber and odor control applications — typically composed of activated materials (in this buyer's case, a blend involving activated carbon and a zeolite component) formed into small, uniform pellets that provide consistent airflow and surface area characteristics within filter cartridges.

Because the raw materials here are fine powders rather than fibrous or granular biomass-type feedstocks, the line uses an extrusion-based pelletizing approach (similar in principle to the activated carbon line shipped to India, mentioned in an earlier project, though the specific formula and zeolite component here differ).

Equipment includes a powder mixing system (with precise ratio control given the carbon-to-zeolite blend ratio significantly affects the finished product's filtration performance characteristics), an extruder for pellet formation, and a drying system calibrated to avoid damaging the porous structure of the activated components — again, similar drying sensitivity considerations as noted for activated carbon pelletizing generally.

This order came about somewhat unusually — the buyer initially contacted RICHI inquiring about biomass pelletizing equipment for an unrelated waste-to-fuel side project they'd been considering, and during those discussions mentioned their core filtration media business and the equipment limitations they were experiencing with their current (much older) pelletizing setup. The air filtration pellet line order followed from that conversation, while the original biomass inquiry remains a separate, as-yet-undecided possibility for the buyer.
