The client of this poultry fish feed processing line in Bangladesh project is a breeding company in Bangladesh, which has 50 hectares of fish ponds and 50,000 laying hens.
As the Bangladeshi government implements the "Protein Security Plan" to promote the coordinated development of aquaculture and poultry farming, the company faces the dilemma that the traditional feed supply model is difficult to meet its own needs.
The breeding industry in Bangladesh faces three unique challenges: extremely unstable power supply, with an average power outage of 4-6 hours per day in industrial areas; high dependence on imported raw materials, 70% of key raw materials such as fish meal need to be imported; frequent floods lead to 2-3 months of logistics interruption each year.
The customer originally adopted the method of purchasing feed from outside, which was not only costly (650 US dollars per ton for fish feed and 550 US dollars per ton for poultry feed), but also difficult to control the quality, and the breeding efficiency continued to decline. In 2022, the delayed arrival of imported feed caused a breeding loss of about $150,000. This painful experience prompted the customer to decide to establish an independent feed production line.

In terms of feed equipment selection, the customer put forward four core requirements:

The energy raw materials mainly use domestic broken rice (30%) and wheat bran (15%), and 5% cassava starch is added to improve adhesion.
Poultry feed uses corn (40%), soybean meal (22%), rice bran (15%) and imported amino acids to balance nutrition. A special innovation is the use of 3% banana leaf powder to replace part of the cellulose raw materials, which not only reduces costs but also improves palatability.
According to the product type and process requirements to be processed by customers, the production process we provide customers adopts a system combining dry single-screw extrusion and ring die granulation.
In the raw material pretreatment stage, various components are processed to 80 mesh fineness by high-efficiency crushers to ensure digestion and absorption rate. The mixing system adopts a double-layer stainless steel mixer, and the coefficient of variation of mixing uniformity is controlled within 5%.
Fish feed production adopts a single-screw dry type fish feed extruder machine, with a die head temperature of 110-115℃, a pressure of 3.2-3.8MPa, and a specially designed die hole structure to ensure good floating properties of the particles.
Poultry feed uses the SZLH250 ring die poultry feed pellet machine with a die hole diameter of 3-4mm and a tempering temperature of 85℃. Sharing the same three-layer belt drying system, the drying temperature of fish feed is 85℃, and the poultry feed is 90℃. Finally, oil and vitamins are added through a vacuum spraying system.
The fish feed product line is divided into two specifications. The particle size of juvenile fish feed is 1.5-2.0mm, protein is 30%, fat is 8-10%, and the floating time is required to be no less than 10 hours at a water temperature of 32℃, and the stability in water is 12 hours with a loss rate of <15%.
The particle size of adult fish feed is 3.0-4.0mm, protein is 28%, and 0.3% vitamin C is added to enhance the ability to resist heat stress. The starch gelatinization degree of all fish feeds is >85%, and the particle crushing strength is >10N.
Poultry feed products include laying hen breeding feed (crude protein 18%) and peak egg laying feed (crude protein 20%, calcium 3.5%). Special attention is paid to particle hardness control (2.5-3.0kg/cm²), which not only ensures palatability but also reduces the powdering rate. Natural pigments are added to make the egg yolk color reach Roche color fan 10-12 level, which enhances market competitiveness.

The product quality is fully up to standard, the floating time of fish feed is 12-14 hours, and the hardness of poultry feed particles is stable in the range of 2.8-3.0kg/cm². Excellent energy consumption performance, the comprehensive energy consumption per ton of product is 15% lower than the customer's original plan.
The feedback from the farm is extremely positive. After using self-produced feed, the growth rate of tilapia increased by 18%, and the breeding cycle was shortened from 200 days to 165 days. The egg production rate of laying hens increased by 5%, and the egg breakage rate decreased by 3 percentage points.
The comprehensive cost of feed decreased by 35%, and it is expected that the entire investment can be recovered in 2.5 years. What makes customers even more satisfied is that during the rainy season traffic interruption, the independent animal feed production line ensured the normal operation of the farm and avoided major economic losses.
