After several months of fundraising and planning, and after detailed exchanges with us on technology and equipment, the customer finally signed a contract with us on October 13, 2025. The total contract amount was US$208,770, covering the design, manufacturing, transportation and technical support of a full set of composite production lines.

After the livestock aqua feed plant in Bhutan project was launched, it was included in the "Green Breeding Strategic Pilot Project" by the local government, which has a demonstrative significance on the road to modernization of Bhutan's animal husbandry.

Raw material composition adapted to local conditions: maximizing the use of plateau resources

Before designing the livestock aqua feed plant in Bhutan, we first conducted a comprehensive investigation of the available raw materials in Bhutan. Since agriculture in the region is mostly natural grazing and private land economy, the feed raw materials selected by customers are also localized and ecological:

• Corn kernels/broken rice: provided by local agricultural cooperatives as energy-based raw materials;
• Rapeseed meal/soybean meal: some of the self-pressed residues are recycled for protein supplementation, and some are purchased from northern India;
• Fish meal and shrimp shell meal: purchased from the nearby Bay of Bengal processing plant to provide animal protein;
• Animal oil and fish oil: used for spraying to improve palatability and energy density;
• Wheat bran/rice bran: as a source of dietary fiber and can improve feed structure;
• Vitamins/trace minerals: added in a centralized manner through premix packages.

Most of these raw materials are locally available or short-chain procurement sources, which not only ensures supply stability but also minimizes costs. For Bhutan, which is highly mountainous and closed, this is a very practical formula idea.

Customized technology with integration and innovation

This livestock aqua feed plant in Bhutan project is different from the previous "fish feed line + livestock and poultry line" side-by-side structure. The customer has higher requirements for "saving space, sharing system, and taking into account both mash feed and pellet feed". Therefore, we tailored a set of composite customized process flow for it:

The complete feed production process flow is:

Feeding → Crushing → Mixing → Diversion Processing (mash packaging + extrusion + granulation) → Drying/Cooling → Spraying → Screening → Packing

The features are as follows:

The crushing and mixing systems are shared, and all animal feed raw materials are uniformly processed at the front end;

The process after mixing is divided into three categories:

1. One part is mash feed directly packaged and sold;
2. One part enters the dry extruder for floating fish feed, sinking fish feed and shrimp feed processing;
3. One part enters the ring die pelletizer for pressing chicken, pig and other livestock and poultry pellets;

A drying + spraying system is set after the extrusion section to ensure water floating and nutrient adsorption;

A countercurrent cooling system is used after the granulation section to improve the strength and storage life of the pellets;

The tail end is uniformly screened and metered, and two discharging methods can be set up, woven bags or bulk.

This design not only takes into account the differences in the process environment of different feed products, but also achieves the best balance in equipment sharing and capacity allocation. In particular, mash feed can be packaged directly or go into the pelletizing/extrusion stage, allowing customers to flexibly adjust the ratio according to market feedback, greatly enhancing the autonomy and adaptability of project operations.

Future scalability: What else can this line do?

Although the livestock aqua feed plant in Bhutan currently mainly processes three types of aquatic feed (floating fish, sinking fish, shrimp feed) and two types of livestock and poultry feed (mash feed, pellet feed), it can also be expanded to the following product types by simply changing the mold and adjusting the ratio:

• Pet food (dog and cat food): replace the extrusion die head and spray formula;
• Ruminant feed (cows, goats, etc.): add crude fiber such as rice husk powder;
• Fish fry micro-granule feed: reduce the size of extruded particles;
• Laying hen high calcium granules: increase calcium source addition and screening particle size control;
• Special animal feed for high mountain areas: develop customized formulas for yaks and horses.

This shows that customers only need to make small adjustments to quickly respond to market changes in the future. In the context of countries such as Bhutan with high logistics costs and large market fluctuations, this flexibility is one of the key competitive advantages.

Analysis of Bhutan market prospects: Breakthrough point of green animal husbandry

Although Bhutan's feed industry has started slowly in recent years, the growth rate of animal husbandry and aquatic products has exceeded 10% for five consecutive years. Especially after the government advocated the policy of "community agriculture + self-sufficiency in breeding", rural cooperatives have sprung up like mushrooms after rain. The low efficiency and serious nutritional imbalance of traditional manual ingredients have become bottlenecks restricting the expansion of the industry.

The composite livestock aqua feed plant in Bhutan can not only serve the customer's own base, but also plan to supply feed to the outside. There are 5 surrounding townships and more than 100 breeders with clear cooperation intentions, and the annual sales of feed are expected to exceed 2,600 tons.

We estimate that the fish livestock feed production line will achieve cost recovery 18 months after production, and replicate more lines within 3 years, gradually forming a regional "feed small factory community" to replace imported feed.

At the same time, the government is promoting the "green feed certification" system. The project has the potential for natural ecological certification due to its control of the ingredient process, no antibiotics and no additives, and may be exported to the high-end breeding market in the northeastern border of India in the future.
